Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose
-"The Rose" (Originally sung by Bette Midler)
Much of iceland is pure ice. it is a very cold country. This boat takes tourists out on to the very cold water beneath the glacier.
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are
~"Fragile"-Sting
Under the bridge the carries the road from Kintore to Hatton of Fintray as it crosses the River Don.
Pulangbato Falls literally means Red Rock Falls in English. The sulfur content in the water has turned much of the rocks in the stream and directly beneath the waterfall into a reddish-orange color.
Thirty second long exposure shot of the waste water pipe on Crosby Beach. The concrete structures are designed to protect the pipe which runs beneath.

This photo was captured after lots of experimenting with angles, waiting on clouds to obscure the sun... Even waiting for the sun to move. Patience is important in photography, as is accepting that sometimes you're going to taker a spill into a creek. As it is, this is the first time in the day that I stepped on something less than solid during this day. The ground beneath my feet was actually hollow. I knew it might be, but I chanced it to get into a better overall position. In the end I was standing bellow the actual pond, in the patch of the creek. I didn't get drenched here, but I wasn't dry. That being said, I would of posted this photo sooner, however, I couldn't get the colors right. Nor the proper focal length, so I spent the last few days altering the photo slowly, trying my best to select versions that would have the least amount of image degradation with each slight adjustment. Even still, this photo has some leaf ghosting that you may spot.

The fall colors were ablaze at the Moffat Tunnel today as the Denver-bound Rocky Mountaineer exited the 6.2-mile hole beneath the Continental Divide. Photo by Joe McMillan.
Fields of gold, beneath the sun's embrace,
A tranquil haven, a boundless space.
Amber waves in the gentle breeze,
Whisper secrets to rustling trees.
Gentle meadows, where wildflowers bloom,
Painting the landscape with colors in tune.
A tapestry woven by nature's hand,
In this idyllic haven, we understand.
Beneath the azure sky's vast dome,
Farmsteads stand, a place called home.
Crops swaying in rhythmical rhyme,
A symphony of seasons, an ageless time.
Nature's beauty in every sight,
From dawn's first blush to the tranquil night.
In the fields and farms, life's stories told,
A canvas of wonder, a sight to behold.
Comet Falls is a must see at Mount Rainier National Park, not just because the four tiers drop 462 feet (52 in this one) but the surrounding area has a story to tell. If you can't guess it on this one I'll tell it on the wider view, but take a look around in there, Mum Nature's wrath has been unleashed and this once lush valley has been scoured clean.
I’ve shot this scene a number of times, trying different focal lengths from Ultra wide to telephoto. I have tried a few different angles as well, working to get the most out of the scene on the day. On this occasion I worked it a different way, putting my 50-140 lens on, and angling towards the mountains as the light faded overtop of them. Bringing just a sliver of the valley in to focus on those peaks. It creates an interesting scene on a mostly cloudless day. I played and tweaked with the photo until I felt it was done. It is easy to over edit at times, but its always fun to see what you can get out of a scene.
