16 things you were dying to know about me.
1. I'm 30. So far I love my thirties, so much better than my twenties (so plenty of I-do-no-know-who-I-am moments). Now I know a bit more about myself. I said "a bit". I'm ready to change my mind about that in the immediate future ;-)
2. I was born in the South of Italy (my mother is from there), I moved to North-Weat when I was 3 months old my mother drove me back home crossing the country from South to North on a FIAT 127. When I was 3 years old we moved to North East, travelling on a red FIAT 127. I love 127s ;-)
3. I hate such things as this invitation to talk about myself but well, I accepted this one from Guercio (and cursed the day he was born ;-).
4. I love almost any kind of music. But I appreciate silence. A LOT.
5. It sounds silly but I only believe in "destiny". There is a path for all of us but it's not something designed from above. It's something we have to work hard on. And there are moments in life where things are more significant than usual. It's up to us to understand these signs and try to find the right direction. I do not believe religions are particularly helpful to guide people in their lives. Most of the times they are only used as an excuse to impose some people's views on other people. Bytheway I did not have any direct trauma from nuns or priests. It's only that one day I woke up and God was gone. Just as Santa Claus.
6. I have one sister I grow up with. She's 9 years younger than me. I totally love her.
I have two "almost" sisters, KriptikChri and her sister, Lola. We are not relatives in any way but we shared so much I consider them as family.
I've been told I also have a stepbrother somewhere: I do not even know his name.
Sounds (Obama) familiar? I really think I could be the next president of the U.S.A. I'm not black but I'm a woman. I only need to solve that little problem about being born there.
7. I received all of the cameras from my father.
8. I have only had one serious relationship. It lasted 3 years and a half. Recently I learned that I do not care about that anymore but the anger and the regrets and the love for that person lasted for many years.
I have this bad habit of falling in love with people who do not reciprocate. I know it's my fault. So far I have not found a solution to this issue.
9. I hate to leave and to be left behind. This is always been an issue for me, perhaps because my father (the biological one) decided not to be part of my life before I was even born (hey, he had important things to do, no time to change nappies with his estranged wife)). The only thing he gave me it's his surname (and I so much prefer my mother's maiden name but Italian Laws about changing names are a pain...).
I'm a Taurus so I love to settle down. I love my daily routine. But I learned to accept that to leave and to be left it's part of life and we all have to deal with that.
Most of the good things I did in my life are a direct consequence of an abandon.
I consider an abandon as a useful "kick in the ass".
10. I have ben very lucky in my life so far. I always had my family to support me. It's a strange enlarged family made of my mother, my mother's partner, my sister, my mother's friends, my mother's former partner family, my friends). I feel I have been loved a lot and I know how important is to be loved and supported in each moment of our lives. To know that there is a net below us to catch us when we make mistakes and fall.
11. I'm an architect. I love to be an architect even if architects are very often smartasses. But what I love about this profession is creativity, curiosity and the constant learning attitude.
12. I'm a very open minded listener so in my iTunes you can find almost everybody. Morrissey, ABBA, Janis Joplin, Talkin Heads, Amanda Palmer, Britney Spears, Vinicio Capossela, DiscoMusic. As long as it makes me feel good, dance, sing-a-long-to-silly-choruses everything does. Well, to be honest, Girls Aloud Stuff and too much R&B won't work that much with me.
13. I do not have a TV. I watch a lot of DVD. Coen Brothers, Tarantino, Tim Burton, Gilmore Girls, Sex and the City, Will&Grace, The Office, Shameless, Green Wing.
14. I'm very curious and I read a lot now I'm not at university anymore. Lately I love to read David Sedaris, Augusteen Borroughs, Jonathan Safran Foer, Paul Auster, Alison Smith. And Oriana Fallaci when I want to get angry (in a more subtle way you would think).
15. I love to dance to New Wave, Rock, Motown, Eighties, Disco, and Roisin Murphy.
16. What else? I'm virtually engaged to Topok but everytime we try to actually get married something gets in our way. Rings are forgotten. He's already married to somebody else. and things like that. But I'm not giving in! ;-)

I thought a this long hair had grown out of my belly button over night. turns out it was just a hair that was caught half way down to the floor.
