INN is located in 144 Bridge Street East, next door to the Rose Garden. It was built in 1859-1860, for Dr. Rufus Holden, an apothecarist and physician. The home and gardens occupy two prime city lots on "Taylor's Hill".

Passing the neat Belleville Milling Feed store in Belleville, Michigan, this CP trackage rights train rolls toward Chicago with an SD40-2 - SD60 combo - April 8, 2006.
CN's G870 rolls through Belleville, Illinois with the British Columbia heritage unit on the head end. The train will pull into the KCS yard at East St. Louis, and depart for UP's Jeff City Sub the next morning.
As expected, this move drew some crowds, despite the persistent rain showers. Thanks to WR and EA for the heads up and field reports.
Full disclosure: I had to use the Photoshop "foamer filter" to remove three other photographers originally in this scene; seems everyone else this day was Mr. Oblivious.

Street and reportage photography from Glasgow, Scotland.
Captured at the very wet 2018 European Championships in Glasgow, the road race weaving right through the heart of the city and here, the French team turning off Buchanan Street for a steep climb up St. Vincent Street.
Glasgow is currently hosting the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships and outside of the velodrome, the weather has been pretty similar to this shot from 2018. For anyone unaware, Belleville Rendez-Vous is an awesome French cartoon about an orphan with a dream to win the Tour de France. It's well worth a watch. Enjoy!
Il lui disait : « Vois-tu, si tous deux nous pouvions,
L'âme pleine de foi, le coeur plein de rayons,
Ivres de douce extase et de mélancolie,
Rompre les mille noeuds dont la ville nous lie ;
Si nous pouvions quitter ce Paris triste et fou,
Nous fuirions ; nous irions quelque part, n'importe où,
Chercher loin des vains bruits, loin des haines jalouses,
Un coin où nous aurions des arbres, des pelouses ;
Une maison petite avec des fleurs, un peu
De solitude, un peu de silence, un ciel bleu,
La chanson d'un oiseau qui sur le toit se pose,
De l'ombre ; — et quel besoin avons-nous d'autre chose ? »
Victor Hugo
A particularly warm and sunny Saturday made for a nice time to get out and see some trains. Despite the usual power, it's nice to work with what you have. Showcasing another piece of the original days of the Belleville sub still holding its own from 1913.
