In this house, Rubens combined Flemish and Roman architectures. He had an impressive collection of Roman statues. He was a very successful artist who employed a large number of assistants.

"Peter Paul Rubens, (born June 28, 1577, Siegen, Nassau, Westphalia [Germany]—died May 30, 1640, Antwerp, Spanish Netherlands [now in Belgium]), Flemish painter who was the greatest exponent of Baroque painting’s dynamism, vitality, and sensuous exuberance. Though his masterpieces include portraits and landscapes, Rubens is perhaps best known for his religious and mythological compositions."

I hope this picture of Granny's Nightcap (Aquilegia, Columbine) with the yellow daffodil bokeh makes you smile! They flowered in my garden in May, and they made me smile - with or without bokeh!

In my album you'll find another, more cropped photo of these Granny's Nightcaps.

We've had rain, rain and more rain recently - so these bright Chrysanthemums at my front door are a good reminder of sunny days!

The first part was placed on pillars, so that the visitor passes through a sort of open-air gallery. Niches house 2D and 3D works by Vanmechelen, including the installation of the Red Jungle Fowl, a wild golden rooster ancestor of the farm chicken.

With Corda I, its steep green roof and its volumetric glazed facade, the city of Hasselt hosted its first incubator. The project, intended to accommodate young companies and start-ups focused on technology, high technology, ICT and new media, includes 14,000 m² of office space and offers common facilities such as meeting rooms, a café lounge, a restaurant and a central reception. . The building has seven floors, multi-tenant and flexible office space and, at its highest point, rises thirty meters above the surrounding land.

The design of the service center stems from a master plan and a Corda campus developed for the former Philips production site, transforming this industrial wasteland into a new freely accessible park

Corda Campus now functions as the ultimate eye-catcher, with architecture and landscape merging into one. This project is a success on many levels and has attracted many companies, in turn accelerating the need to complete the master plan with Corda II and Corda III.

In the cold and mist this bench didn't look as inviting as usual. Still, the view on the branches full of hoarfrost were fabulous.

Another photo taken in a nature reserve near Bruges, on that beautiful morning two weeks ago.

Taken from a lane that is bordered by daffodils: the impressive church of the small but very beautiful village of Oostkerke in Flanders.

The trees are pollard willows: their branches have been cut for wood. They need to be cut every 7 years or so, otherwise the trunk will break open. The row of trees in the background are pollard willows with their branches.

Just to prove that the deer in my preceding photo does have four legs! The deer is in a fenced-off area, somewhere near Bruges, and I saw it on a walk I made.
