Yanartaş, Antalya'nın Kemer ilçesi Çıralı köyü yakınlarında küçük, tarihi ve turistik önemi olan doğalgaz kaynağı. Denize yakın manzaralı bir konumda yer alır, taşlar arasından çıkan alevler turistlerin ilgisini çekmektedir.
Çıralı plajının kuzeyindeki kayalıklarda yer alan doğalgaz kaynağı, eski Yunan mitolojisi'ne konu olmuştur. Mitolojiye göre, kanatlı at Pegasus'un sırtındaki Bellerophontes, ateş soluyan canavar Kimera'yı (Khimaira) burada öldürür.

Yanartaş, proposed as the ancient Mount Chimaera, is the name of a geographical feature near Olympos valley and national park in Antalya Province in southwestern Turkey, at a distance of about forty kilometers to the southwest from the city of Antalya, between the district center of Kemer and the township of Beldibi, near present Tekirova.
It is characterized by a permanent fire caused by methane emissions and the area is located on a track popular with hikers and trekkers on the Lycian Way.
Called in Turkish Yanartaş (flaming rock), the spot consists of some two dozen vents in the ground, grouped in two patches on the hillside above the Temple of Hephaistos about 3 km north of the village of Çıralı, near ancient Olympos, in Lycia. The vents emit methane thought to be of metamorphic origin. In ancient times sailors could navigate by the flames, but today they are more often used to brew tea, the flames being of little use for navigation nowadays.
The site was identified as the ancient Mount Chimaera by Sir Francis Beaufort in 1811, and described by T.A.B.Spratt in his Travels in Lycia, Milyas, and the Cibyratis, in company with the late Rev. E. T. Daniell. The discussion on the connection between the myth and the exact location of Chimera was started by Forbiger in 1844, and the George E. Bean was of the opinion that the name was allochtonous and could have been transferred here from its original location further west, as cited by Strabo, owing to the presence of the same phenomenon and the fires.
The fires of Yanartaş at night.
Yanartaş is also the title of a 1970 novel by the Turkish novelist Mehmet Seyda, although not associated with the locality in question.

Originally, a Hellenistic settlement, which later developed into a thriving Roman city, Perge is a historicist’s delight. Situated only 18 km from Antalya in the Pamphylion plain, Perge has a long legacy (almost from 1500 B.C.) to narrate with its initial inhabitants being the Hittites. Its importance also lies in the fact that the ruins of the Roman city provides a very complete picture of the past, thus making it archaeologically invaluable. However, even if you are wondering how an archaeologically fertile site could ever interest you, you should never miss a chance of visiting it. For Perge has much to offer for the vacationer as well, it has a unique blend of the exotic and the ancient.
You may have visited many beautiful places, further Turkey itself can boast of a great number of them. But the beauty of Perge lies in its unconventionality, its mysticism and glorious past, and it beckons you to discover it.
According to Strabon,Side was built by the Cymians who formed one of the Aeolian cities in the north of Izmir (Smyrna). The world “side”means pomegranate in the ancient local languages.According to discoveries arising out the excavations,Side was ruled by the Ptolemaics of Egypt in the third century BC and later by the Assyrian Kingdom. In 188 BC “Side”gained its indepence, but was later annexed to the Galata Kingdom in 78 BC,but then in 25 BC Side gained its independence again .Alas,it then became a target of the Pirates and Arabs and rapidly diminished after the 3rd century (AD).After you pass through the gate to the city, you arrive at a spacious area decorated with flat stones .This is the beginning of the two main streets. On both two sides of the streets are decorative porticos and behind them are shops. The column capitals are Corinthian.Across the door is the very grand monumental fountain, the “Nymphaion”.The Agora which has shops on tree sides,is shaped like a square and is surrounded by galleries with columns. In the center of this area are the remains of an altar made for the Goddess of Fortune and Fate Fortuna, the ruler of the fate ofcities. The amphitheater adacent to it,wich provides a panoramic view of the city,is very beautiful. The temples, the monumental road covered by the city today and the remains of the ancient harbor can be seen from here.

The Temple of Apollo at Side
The Temple of Apollo is situated a five minute walk to the left of the Harbour , jutting out slightly onto a promintory.Origionally there were two temples , The Temple that remains standing , majestically meeting the Ocean is the Temple of Apollo . Built in the second half of the 2nd cenrury A.D. and consisting entirely of marble .
This is probably the most photgraphed spot in Side , and the most Romantic, Absolutely stunning against the reflection of the moon on the sea , or as the sun drops down beyond the depths of the Ocean.
