I have not been able to find one with this specific coloration, but for some the orange and black is a common theme.
Arizona Blister Beetle (Epicauta arizonica) is a striking insect found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, thriving in desert and semi-arid regions. Adults feed on the leaves and flowers of plants, while their larvae parasitize grasshopper eggs. Though fascinating, these beetles can be pests, damaging crops like alfalfa and posing risks to livestock due to the toxic cantharidin they produce.
Delta flower beetles are diurnal (active during daylight). Throughout much of their adult life, they are commonly found on and near flowers within tall grass and meadows. Their adult life revolves completely around flowers. Mating occurs on flowers and their adult diet consists mostly of pollen.

I was sitting for a bit in a public area in Cambria. At some point I looked up and found this beetle looking back. I eased back, it eased back. No creatures harmed in this encounter.
I have absolutely no idea what sort of beetle it may have been.
Suggestions appreciated.
Chrysolina graminis. River Ouse, York
The beetle is threatened due to reduction in suitable wetland habitat and food plants, including tansy tanacetum vulgare. UK distribution was thought to be restricted to the River Ouse in York but the species was rediscovered in the East Anglian Fens in 2014. The tansy beetle doesn’t travel far through its lifecycle and despite the presence of wings it rarely flies.
Both adults and larvae use the same host plant during their life cycle. As tansy often grows in discrete clumps, the total population of the beetle in an area may be divided and individuals may spend their entire life cycle within an area of a few square metres.
Adults mate between March and June. Between August and September, the resultant new adult population emerges to feed before returning underground to overwinter in October; emergence of adults is from March to April the next year.
Most adults from the earlier emergence die before the end of summer.
Survival during winter underfground hibernation is surprisingly high, as autumn and spring population sizes are very similar. This is despite annual winter flooding of the River Ouse, indicating that overwintering individuals must be extremely tolerant of long periods of inundation and oxygen deprivation.. Approximately 5% of overwintering adults do not emerge from the soil after the winter, but remain underground for the next year in a state of extended diapause and emerge in the following spring.

The common red soldier beetle is also known as the 'bloodsucker' for its striking red appearance, but it is harmless. It is a beneficial garden insect as the adults eat aphids, and the larvae eat other pests. They are 1 cm long.
The common red soldier beetle is a medium-sized, narrow beetle commonly found on open-structured flowers, such as daises, cow parsley and hogweed, during the summer. It can be spotted on grasslands, along hedgerows, and in woodland, parks and gardens. Adults feed on aphids, and also eat pollen and nectar. Larvae prey on ground-dwelling invertebrates, such as slugs and snails, and live at the base of long grasses. The adults spend much of their short, summer lives mating, and can often be seen in pairs.
