Smile on Saturday and theme Handles
My grandfather's beer mug, which he brought from Germany or Austria in the thirties of the last century.
HSoS!
After the beer gardens in good old Germany are open again,
I present here a detail of a beer mug to open the jug lid, necessary to taste the beer.

Today I was practicing with light and color. My lighting set up was a small flashlight pointed at the background and my tracing table light propped up to the right side, The wall is green. I wanted this to be a food shot but I couldn't get the lighting right with beer in the mug so we just get an empty mug today.
The mug was a souvenir purchased at Cheers in Boston in 1993.
Kate Atkinson's books are like a trip back to the home country for me. She captures so well the small towns, characters, and general quirkiness of the areas right around where I grew up in the north of England :-) Since I can't travel there for a while, this book has been like a mini nostalgic visit. Happy Sliders Sunday.

(68/365) The final result of all the glassblowing effort is this colorful mug. It ended up a bit larger than intended, holding around 20 fl oz (see the next shot for how it holds a 12 oz beer). This is not precisely how I envisioned things when starting, but it is reasonably close, and I do like how it came out.

And the last photo in the series, this shows the mug in use. This is a 12 oz bottle of beer, in its entirety. This will hold a lot of beer. Not a bad thing. NB, the beer is Alamo Pilsner, from the San Antonio Brewing Co. It is highly recommended.
We made it safely to South Dakota, and what better way to relax than a bbq with friends! This was one of two drinking mugs Tesha had, and Tash and I held the mug to say cheers, happy birthday, and we love Tesha :)
Happy Starwars-Day

This interesting beer mug uses animal horns as handles. The horns complement the skull which is encased in a medieval style steel helmet.

I have a souvenir glass for every occasion... left to right and back to front: Classic Toronto Blue Jays beer glass, Les 3 Brasseurs beer mug, 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver beer glass, 2 Beatles "Abbey Road" wine glasses, Blockbuster video store glass with "The Saint" on the other side, 2 Bailey's Irish Cream glasses, Captain Morgan glass (containing rum that is not Captain Morgan), 2 shot glasses from The Alamo, a Property of Alcatraz Penitentiary shot glass (containing a shot of scotch whisky). I toasted Maria's friend Andrea Bella with the scotch and Suzanne with the rum. Happy Smile on Saturday!

At the end of a long enjoyable day it was good to sit back with good friends Jim and Sasha, and enjoy a cool one on the banks of the Rhine River in Mainz Germany.
They taste so much better Here....!!!!
