Here is another image from the shoot with Becca, this one took around 5 hours of editing to produce! It really contrasts against the happy glamour shot I posted of her yesterday!
About the Photo
*Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS *Lens: EF 50mm ƒ/1.8 II *Shutter Speed: 1/200 Sec. *Aperture Value: ƒ/5.6 *ISO: 100 *Focal Length: 50mm (80mm Equivalent on 35mm Film)
I shot this on a tripod using mirror lockup and a remote switch. To the left of the camera I had a Canon Speedlite 430EX II at full power and at 24mm being shot into a 60" Westcott reflective umbrella around 6 feet away from the model as the key light. To the right of the model I had a Vivitar flash at full power pointed directly at her around 15 feet away from the model. The Speedlite was triggered by a Canon ST-E2 wireless Speedlite transmitter and the Vivitar was triggered optically.
As usual I edited the image as a 16 bit TIFF I added a lot of selective mid tone contrast enhancements and changed the shape of some things to aid with the direction of the image. I added bright 105mm prime lens flare to the image in the model's hands and used a mask to remove some light around the fingers to give the impression that she's holding them. I made the eye appear red to add to the image. Of course, at the end of the editing I saved as a sRGB JPEG for internet display.

Fiddled around with filters, brushes, and overlays, then cropped and saved as JPG file in Photoshop.

Loutre d'Europe, Parc zoologique de Paris
En France, la Loutre d'Europe (Lutra lutra) autrefois présente sur l’ensemble du territoire sauf en Corse, a subi un important déclin au cours du 20 ème siècle, si bien qu’à la fin des années 80, l’espèce ne subsistait pratiquement plus que le long de la façade atlantique et dans le Massif Central.
Au cours des années 90, des mouvements de recolonisation se sont amorcés avec notamment une progression en Bretagne et en Loire-Atlantique et une reconnexion des populations du littoral atlantique et du Massif central.
