A little rain could not deter 60 tree-mendous volunteers who helped plant 40 trees...and came ready to plant more! Thank you to the volunteers, neighbors of South Beaverton, and the City of Beaverton for such a successful morning! These trees will be a part of a healthier, greener future for all!
The busy Beaverton DMV office is shaking up the “take a number” tradition with an experiment using check stand lights — like those you see at grocery stores and other retailers.
Mercy killing
At the Beburg wye, Rick Franklin Corporation crews dismantle 2 derelict passenger cars. These cars, owned by PNWC-NRHS, have been sitting on a nearby spur for about 20 years. They are in extremely poor condition due to decay and vandalism, such poor shape that they had to be trucked out instead of being moved by rail for scrapping. Here, an excavator lifts one end of the car off the truck. This car, PNWC 1220, was built for GN, and was most recently used by NJDOT (Whose paint scheme it wears, albeit obscured by graffiti patches and corrosion)
This is where we're staying right now in Beaverton while we get settled. Very nicely put together, with lots of flowering trees in April.
