Bead embroidered pin/pendant with larimar stone and carved bone face cabachon....freshwater pearls, vintage nailheads & glass seed beads. Backed with ultrasuede and pin/pendant finding.
The only question more important than "what do you do with a drunken sailor," is - what do you do with your random lampwork? It certainly poses an opportunity to create some inexpensive jewelry and this is what I opted to do with some of the random focals that were lying on my bench.
My 2010 challenge piece for Beading for a Cure. The fish was made with the beads from the kit provided. It is hung from an ornament hanger to which I added a base.
I finally finished all the jewelry for the teachers at the kids' school that I plan to give as "end of year Thank You gifts".
This one is for the young Spanish teacher at my son and daughter's school, who wears "big sassy earrings" :)
These are her UT cuff bracelets. We live in Vol country, so these go pretty fast.

That's a lot of B's! This is tiny, about 1 1/2 X 2 inches. Made using size 15 beads. My original design.
Simple blue glass facets teamed with silver seed beads in a flat spiral weave. Finished with a silver plated heart toggle clasp.

Beaded basket made from the BFAC kit for 2011. Peyote, herringbone were the main stitches used. The basket is 2.25" tall and 4 inches across.
I made this pair of earrings for a friend to give as a Xmas gift in '09. They are embellished dodecahedra, using emerald swarovski bicones and 11/0 and 15/0 seed beads
(I learned the underlying dodecahedron pattern from Laura Shea's Plato Bead, featured in The Art of Beadwork, I believe)
Bead embroidered pin/pendant using czech glass beads, abalone fish and carved bone salmon. Vintage nailheads & roses montees.
This stiffened double sided ribbon has the house colors for Gryffendor: gold, black and red trim with little rune-like markings along the edges. There is a beaded dangle with an owl, a golden snitch and a lion decorating one end. This bookmark measures approximately 9 inches excluding the dangles and would be the perfect way to mark your place in the daily readings of any Harry Potter fan.
For a friend who was recently diagnosed. The strap is freshwater pearl, the chain links have Swarovski crystals in them and size 8 seed beads. The strap is loomed. The ribbon is a stone I recently discovered at a gem show.
Each tribe has its own design of moccasin; some have hard soles to deal with rocky ground while others have multiple layers of leather to help with colder weather. The beading adorning a moccasin is also indictive of which tribe created it. These moccasins are made by the Ojibwe (commonly called Chippewa) from around the Great Lakes.
Moccasins are used as an everyday footware and designed to protect feet from the harsh conditions of nature. Many types of moccasins were made of soft leather; this made them relatively light as well as comfortable.
