At Prince Rupert one day before the Queen of Prince Rupert's (right) decommissioning cereymony. Presumably in missing wing formation to aknowledge the sunken northern vessel Queen of the North, felled three years, one month and four days before.

Queen of New Westminster is at Berth 3. Captured from on the top of a picnic table in order to avoid the quickly apparent surging swells of water pouring onto this artificial island a mile into the Strait of Georgia.
Two things are working to tip the Queen of Nanaimo here: The turn from northbound Active Pass into Sturdies Bay's ferry berth ends up taking her in about a 200 degree turn & by the nature of Route 9, Tsawwassen (near Vancouver) - Southern Gulf Islands and its 5 ports of call, the weight of the load of vehicles is already shifted to starboard for this portion of the 'milk run' (stopping at all ports) back to Tsawwassen.
A slightly uneven vehicle deck load to starboard combined with a course change to port gives this already strange looking stitch shot some extra unexpected curves.

This is a shot unprinted since it was taken, a dull day and a grubby Duff were not worth bothering with.
The train is passing over the Grand Union canal at St Andrews Junction, indeed the flood light and the back of the old stand are visible on the left. Growing out of 47442 is the chimney of Carrs paint factory with its ever present odour mixing with the delights of the canal. The service was the 13.25 Birmingham New Street to Paddington, it should have been a class 50, I would have printed it before if it had been...
47442 was built at Crewe Works, it entered traffic as D1558 at Sheffield Darnall (41A) on 26th February 1964. It was withdrawn 12/03/1993 and cut by M.R.J. Philips at Crewe works 01/04/1997

"Everything around here makes me sad.
Everything is part of the dreams that we had
that will never be the way we wanted them to be
when we dreamed these dreams that we had
we wanted them to be the future....
Come on and wake up with me
Hey come on and wake up with me.…"

Birmingham City Women celebrate going 2-0 up during the F.A WSL tie with Manchester City Women 30-09-18
An artist's impression done before the SoBC entered service in 1993. This print was part of promotional material made available by the BC Ferry corporation.
The background looks more like the Inside Passage than anywhere on the route actually operated by the SoBC.
A very small minority of people in the Rovers' end reacted badly to City's goading. I'm not being biased here (and I don't claim to have seen everything), but I only spotted around THREE people (not pictured) who seemed to be causing any trouble at this time in this area. The rest of the fans in this area were either watching on (like me) or 'just' shouting back at City fans. MOST Rovers' fans, however, were watching the game. It was a family event for them. Some people at the end of the game (including me) were genuinely frightened by City's behaviour. They charged the pitch in hundreds en masse and made in an intimidating manner towards the Rovers's stand. The police and stewards did not control this at all well.
After a decade of fighting relegation - and it finally happening last May - there is a new spirit around Birmingham City. New owners, new players, new manager, new optimism. Five games, four wins, one draw, and some brilliant football are making it a great experience down at St Andrews. And before the 3–1 win over Wrexham the crowds were milling in the evening sunset outside the Kop.

An unusual visitor for this time of year. Apparently on a 5 day tour and evidently not required by BCFC in the off-season.
