I was surprised to see this solo Re 6/6 (Re 620) at the height of Zürich Hardbrücke. The surprise was even bigger when seeing the big machine taking the Kohledreieck bridge towards Zürich HB! - Certainly a worthwhile visit to Zürich HB.
Popped out to see the Badgers again tonight. I've been feeding them for a week or two, as usual, so they get used to my smell etc.. I was hoping to see them before it got too dark. This old fella showed about 9pm, the rest put in an appearance at about 9.30... Far too dark for any shots. I had six running around by my feet, four of which were cubs. One was really tiny. There was a tiny one last year, I don't think he made it as I didn't see him again as the summer progressed. So fingers crossed for 'half pint' this year.
Nice to see this in:

Interesting textures from the side of the BBC Pacific Quay in Glasgow, Scotland. I had got the idea of shooting interesting, long patterns on buildings like this from a fellow photographer during a NYC shoot.
Thanks Steve for the heads-up on this. The wide screen version can be found in comments below. :@}

If all goes to plan I will be appearing on BBC Breakfast Time tomorrow morning (7 Sept c08:20) talking about garden birds. And I will probably talk about House Sparrows, which are the commonest bird in my own garden and where I photographed this male. Some recent research has shown that House Sparrows dominate smaller birds at garden bird feeders. But even among House Sparrows there is a pecking order, and individual males with more testosterone have more black on their chest, and they lord it over subordinates with less black and less testosterone.
Update: My interview went ahead at around 7:40am, so about 40 minutes ahead of when I was told. It should be here if you fast forward about 1 hour and 40 minutes: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006v5tb/episodes/player
But it is only available for 24 hours.

The Zoli is a diminutive but dangerous Rahi native to the darkest corners of the Le-Wahi jungle. Comfortable in the undergrowth, in dark caverns or among twisting roots where humidity is trapped, the Zoli relies on two defenses - its highly toxic venom, and its abdomen that resembles the head of a Bohrok. Generally scared of larger creatures, most times when an unfortunate Le-Matoran encounters such a spider, it is a result of mistaking it for a flower due to its colours. Some particularly courageous Matoran have taken to capturing and taming Zoli and keeping them as pets, much to Turaga Matau's chagrin.
My Badger was on the BBC Springwatch Instagram site two years ago, I just found out... I don't do Instagram and only stumbled across this from a link on the BBC Springwatch page. Nice to see It's still getting an airing :@)

The new BBC Broadcasting House, opened in June 2013 by HM The Queen; recently painted on location in Portland Place, London, by expressionist artist Stephen B Whatley.
Whatley - whose work has been published in TIME - has a history of painting architectural landmarks on location, undertaking several commissions for BBC Heritage, Buckingham Palace for the Royal Collection & a series of 30 works for the Tower of London - all permanently reproduced throughout Tower Hill Underpass, at Tower Hill Station, London.
BBC journalists spotted the artist beginning painting early that morning & came out later in the afternoon to take a photograph for the BBC Live News online - which you can see at 17.24 ( time) on the link below.
