Lovely Waterloo Wools batts, a prize from a draw in the Tour de Fleece group I participated in. So pretty!

2 x 1.5 oz

Colour: Song of the Sea

Composition: 30% merino, 30% BFL, 20% soy silk, 20% milk fibre

I washed & carded most of my fleece from MDSW already! These will be dyed for patchwork yarns. Most of the batts are plain, but some have 20% recycled soysilk and one batch has some chocolate brown CVM wool carded in. This sheep is heavily crossbred but mostly Romeldale, and CVM is the same breed as Romeldale just a specific color pattern so I thought they'd be a good match, and they are.

I'm so in love with this fleece, it is exactly perfect for me. Fine and sproingy-soft but with a nice long staple. I have one more pound to card up, it's going to be a 50% blend with pygora fiber from my goats!

The Regiment was initially formed in 1994 by the amalgamation of The Queen's Own Highlanders and The Gordon Highlanders. (The Queen's Own was itself an amalgamation of The Seaforth Highlanders and the Cameron Highlanders). In 2004 the Scottish Regiments joined together to form The Royal Regiment of Scotland with each becoming a battalion. The Highlanders (Seaforths, Camerons and Gordons) now make up the 4th Battalion.

Well known for having a high quality in piping, both pipers and drummers still wear the Cameron of Erracht tartan of earlier times and pipers wear a single eagle feather in their Glengarry.

My kids hand carded this lovely batt, perfect for spinning or felting!

The Purlescence "Wheel of fortune" batt, all spread out.

I have not got out much so the photography has taken a break, however, I saw this in my neighbours tree in clear site and thought great photo opportunity (without going out!) After taking more than enough I had to decide which I thought was the cutest and best capture. Here is what I decided on.

finally played with my new (used) carder that i got from sara (lush mommy). had fun spending time with her in her fiber playroom. thanks for the carder and the lesson sara!

funny...you think you're putting lots of texture in there and it's not nearly as much as you think, when you finally pull em off the carder.
