Running on empty. Robots are a favourite of mine to draw. Mechanical nonsense without any difficult-to-draw expressions or emotion.
To me, Batteries are little metal things that I have to buy to make my best toys work - most importantly, my camera.
They can be dangerous things if they leak their acid out.
They can be expensive, they can be inexpensive, but they are absolutely necessary.
All in all, I (for one) need plenty of them in my life.
All change at Athlone
In the centre of Ireland, the town bus service has become the first in the country to go all electric with its new fleet of fully electric single deckers for the town's bus service in January 2023.
Launched at the end of January 2023, a fleet of new Alexander Dennis/ BYD enviro200EV operated by Bus Eireann, 11 of these EA class operate routes A1 & A2.
During the initial set up, some of the former Wrightbus streetlite WM class were retained while teething problems were ironed out with the new technology.
These single-deck battery-electric buses, EA class are 12m long with two doorways, bespoke design features, wheelchair ramps, usb charging & coloured priority seating, with up to 73 passengers on 27 fixed seats, six tip-up seats within a permanent wheelchair space and dedicated accommodation for a pram, pushchair or buggy.
The Athlone town service operates with two routes ( A1 & A2 ) from Bealnamulla via Athlone bus & rail station, beyond to Creggan every 15 minutes.

Lights, camera, but not much action under the bonnet, the end of the diesel engine, replaced by racks of batteries.
The new Wrightbus StreetDeck Electroliner fully electric double decker was showcased to the media as the National Transport Authority announced 120 vehicles to various cities around Ireland, Limerick to get the first batch next year.
The Electroliner has a rapid charge time of just 2.5 hours, travelling up to 200 miles on full charging & zero emissions.

I shot this with my (highly capable) LG G4 Smartphone. The E-M5 with the 17mm 1.8 is perfect for street photography. It's diminutive size and weight is a huge relief! The picture quality is awesome! BUT...if you're spending a full day and possibly night out, and you love to shoot...especially spontaneously....you better carry about 5 extra fully charged batteries...or more if you're like me! Now..with that said..(and I'm only speaking about THIS mirrorless camera), You're carrying the camera in it's ON position..you have the SLEEP function set to your preference...if it's been awhile AFTER sleep, (without any camera interaction), the camera shuts off, and you must turn the switch OFF and back ON again. Don't be surprised to see that the battery is or almost dead,(and you blew that sudden shot!). So...for intentional composed shooting...1 battery can last a long time if you turn the switch OFF after a few shots. But if you turn it on and leave it on....be prepared! For those wondering about speed and battery life, I hope this helps. Cheers!!

Testing the battery life of some of our LED panels with a GoPro set to time lapse mode. The GoPro is being powered by our Turbopack 9000, allowing it to run for up to 12 hours straight.

It looks like Apple fooled us with the round Mac Pro on their last keynote! If this is a new prototype Mac Pro that I captured, I'm expecting unlimited expandability and insane battery life! Doubling down on secrecy my a... ;-)

One thing I love about the 60D is the battery information available on the LCD screen. When only one battery is in the camera, it'll list just one battery. Two batteries are listed because of the battery grip.
A few things to note:
* Each battery's location is noted in the tiny camera icon; the camera not only recognizes that a grip is in place, but can tell the difference between the two batteries.
* The top battery listed has been in the camera since Feb. 6, when I received the 60D. Not only has it fired over 400 images, but it's recorded several HD videos, and waited patiently while I flipped through endless menu screens and experimented with Live View. That's pretty impressive performance.
(The Vello BG-C6 battery grip finally arrived today and found its place on the 60D.)

Today, September 19, 2014, is Macintosh iTelephone Series 6.0 (eyeOS 8.0) day in the UK. I was at the Vodafone shop this morning, but there was no queue :-( In any event, I'm firing up my new device in celebration. Behold the mighty Nokia 6110 in my warm and comforting clutches! I think it's über-cool. It takes a man-sized SIM card - not one of those fiddly, circumcised jobs - and the battery can outlast a nuclear winter :-) It also has market-leading features like volume control and the colour purple. Apparently it can also do something called "texting", but that's a bit out of my league. Personally, I doubt whether it will catch on. This is one helluva man's phone. Tough as nails and I'm proud to carry it in the bespoke, testosterone-infused leather pouch on my belt. Viva new technology viva!

I think everything I wear this Spring is gonna come from Next. They have sooo much good stuffin there for Spring I was about to explode today. Trend is definitely very nautical, sailor-esque. Have to say I'm 'bout to join the Navy :D
As you may identify for yourself, there is a part of this I don't like.. A sort of overload. Then I just found something which I really love; rainbow squiggles. This was really hard to create. As you may or may not know it's all freehand, freestyle and tonight I was so on it I couldn't stop myself (then I looked at battery life and saw I had an email so I had to quit. Plus How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days in on E4+1 in 10 minutes !) I had to first light it up with the light from my phone (Sony Ericsson K850i) and then paint around, trying desperately not to knock the shoes down. Difficult task. I've decided I'm such a DIY photographer. I don't need no professional equipment, I just make do with what I've got and love it.
Sidenote: Don't you love it when people use the exact same phrases as you, like you're rubbing off on them. Yes, it depends who it is, but in this case. I love it :]

Still need to write a review about this underwater lamp. Great lamp with a good rotational knob. Excellent bundled light. Reasonable batterylife at 50 minutes or so and charges via mains with included adapter.

The Battery Life in Vista seems to have taken a turn for the best.. here we can see my laptop's amazing 34hour battery.
(The picture is real, Vista actually displayed this, but obviously the time is inaccurate - at this point I had about 1h 50 left)
Left home with 100% battery. Either walking or on public transport for 76mins. This is what my battery is at when I reach work.
I have turned off 4G, so that's not sapping it. At home it takes hours to drain that much… even if WiFi is turned off.
