Op een regenachtige dag gaat weer een Fyra terug naar Italië. Foto gemaakt vanuit HGB 4 . Coll.J.Mulders.
Return to sender: Another FYRA is transported back to it's manufacturur Ansaldo Breda in Italy. Not withstanding AB's terrible reputation NS orderd 16 of these High-speed trains, and after an allmost 4 years delay in delivery, : surprise, surprise:the trains were defective from the start, they lost parts while on their way to Brussels( even a door half- opened and hung by only one hinge at 240 km/h..!), suffered from loose cabling and batteryfires ;only a shaming 20% of them ever reached their destination..,and when the Belgian Railways put out an Injunction on them after only 3 weeks they were withdrawn from service, For the better part of 2 years they stood idle in a trainyard in Amsterdam...Inspection revealed each train was wired totally different from the other, cables were attached to the underside by tiewraps, isolation was non-exsistant and so-on-and soforth,... A lenghty law suit was avoided when Dutch Railwys (NS) reached an agreement with AB to send them back, and receive damage-payments worth 137m E.Utrecht Okt. 2014 Picture taken from the 8th floor of the head office of NS.
Back in 1969, the time around 16th of August, there was "Woodstock", then only a few years later in 1972, around the same date, there was "Made in Japan"... and in 2019 a young powertrio from Hamburg, Germany made their own homage to Rock Music.
The knew it that the time was there and it was the right thing to do it "now, and do it live".
The Album that they made is called: Time To Rock
And now they share it with you, because in the end thats what rockmusic is all about. It's about giving all you got and resonate with eachother in a energetic rhythm, until your neck hurts a little bit.
Be prepared for more rocknroll homage.
Stay tuned.
