There are certain birds that just make me happy and the Gray-headed Batis is definitely one of them. The first time we encountered one during our trip to Ethiopia we were finishing up birding for the day and I wasn’t really expecting to see anything new. We had been birding the area all afternoon and hadn’t seen anything new for a while. Just before we got to the car this little fella popped out and we had a lot of fun following it around with our cameras as it zipped around the trees. I don’t know exactly what it is but something about this little bird just tickles me.
