"Canto le forme dei corpi che presero nuova figura": la frase con cui si aprono Le Metamorfosi di Ovidio sono il migliore riassunto della performance che avrà luogo il giorno 24 maggio 2012 alle ore 21.00 in Piazza Riforma a Lugano.
Qui, sessanta studenti del primo anno dell'Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio dell'Università della Svizzera italiana si esibiranno in un esercizio sulle metamorfosi della forma.
Gli allievi indosseranno delle costruzioni da loro stessi realizzate, invadendo la piazza con una dislocazione determinata dalle dimensioni delle loro strutture, che "prenderanno nuova figura" sulla base della velocità di rotazione.
Lo studio della sezione, applicato a un sistema costruttivo a cerniere, grazie alla rivoluzione geometrica e alla forza centrifuga genererà così volumi in continua modificazione disegnando un esteso paesaggio metamorfico.
La grande e spettacolare coreografia, della durata complessiva di circa 30 minuti, sarà accompagnata da un brano musicale appositamente scritto dal compositore Nadir Vassena per utopianbody.org.
L'esercizio rappresenta il lavoro didattico del semestre estivo nell'atelier orizzontale di Riccardo Blumer all'interno del lavoro di primo anno coordinato dall'architetto Mario Botta.

A real-time simulated ocean under twilight lighting condition. The water surface is mainly modeled after Jerry Tessendorf’s statistic method described in the paper “Simulating Ocean Water”, which is one of the most popular techniques used for water effect in todays games.
