Here's a few photos I took the day after the big storms had swept south, on their way to batter Tasmania.

I recently visited Abu Dhabi. In a dessert outside of the city I was participating in sand bashing, which was driving in the dessert and sliding down the sand dunes. It was great fun :-D

Taken with my iPhone.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment, and/or fave my photo.

Dune Bashing is basically a form of off-roading done on sand dunes, usually in big 4X4 vehicles like the Toyota Land Cruiser or Fortuner. It basically involves driving at varying speeds over sand dunes and maneuvering the car in such a way as to maintain balance while going up the dune and coming down.

Bash Bish Falls is a waterfall in southwestern Massachusetts, in the Taconic Mountains. They are the state's highest waterfall. The falls are made up of a series of cascades, nearly 200 feet in total, with the final cascade being split into twin falls.

They say Bash Bish was a beautiful Indian girl who was wrongfully accused of infidelity and was sent to death over the falls.

A waterfall near the New York Border in Massachusetts. It is about 3 hours from our home. I used the Lee little stopper and the polarizer with the 16-35mm supported by the Really Right Stuff Fluid Head.

This sequence of shots shows a Song Thrush dealing with a snail. It took about four sessions of bashing to break all the shell off the snail. As the bird brings the snail down on the rock the nictitating membrane (third eyelid) covers the eye to prevent it from damage

Trekking through the mountains, Crimea

These falls, located on the MA-NY border, are a real treat. Especially this year with great color and really strong flow!

This is a composite of 2 different exposure shots to help balance the light out- the sun was actually really bright on the left and the entire right was pitch black in shadow.

Bash Bish Falls might be the most spectacular waterfall in the state Massachusetts. It's literally located on the state line of NY and MA in Mt. Washington, MA. (It's a thirty second drive up from Taconic State Forrest which is in Copake Falls, NY.) Bash Bish is an all-star attraction guaranteed to satisfy. The falls plummet through a series of dramatic gorges before finally cascading about 80 feet into sparkling pools of water. Even if there hasn't been much rain, Bash Bish is still a picturesque scene but when it has received a lot of rain or snow melts it's unlikely you'll see a better waterfall in all of New England. source:www.berkshirehiking.com

Bash Bish Falls in October. As always a challenge to photograph the upper section properly. Shot on Fuji Realia Film.

By the time the afternoon Norwich to Great Yarmouth departed the sun had done one.Lots of Bashers today and the two 37s made a fine departure. I see one Ralitour was cancelled recently because of bad behavior ( window hanging and bellowing) Now I wonder who the younger enthusiasts learned that from!

About a mile over the border from NY to Mass is Bash Bish falls, the highest waterfall in Massachussetts. It's a relatively easy (but sometimes slippery) walk from the parking lot to the falls. And it's an absolutely amazing view! I can't wait to go back when the leaves turn even more.
