A previously unpublished shot from this day, 2nd September, in 2017 at the 'Ayr Show' - Scotland's Air Show.
The Ayr Show is back on again next weekend for the first time since the start of the pandemic and, with my health still not being up to scratch just yet, I might have to enjoy it from a distance and not get down there with my camera. I have loved flight and aviation since childhood and the summer seaside air show was always a treat that I could enjoy with my dad.
While I won't be well enough to make it into the massive crowds that are expected, I'll find a quite place to enjoy it as best as I can near to home. I have some older shots from previous Scottish air shows if you would like me to share them? Let me know!

I just can't resist a shot when I'm at this spot in Hannover. I love the straight lines and gritty background. One of my favourite backdrops in the city center.

I saw this couple walking around the Lake yesterday and I noticed the man's hat. I asked him if I could take a photo of the logo. He agreed and he told me that it was designed and made by his girlfriend who is a graphic designer.

Paris, France - July 2019: Painter of Montmartre portraying a beautiful asian woman at The Place du Tertre, a few streets away from Montmartre's Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur. Other tourists and painters are standing on the background.
High-angle shot capturing two individuals on a gravel path in Montreal, one cycling away with a backpack and the other paused to check his smartphone under direct sunlight.
Kellie's Castle with its Moorish / Indo-Saracenic style windows; I like how the guy's striped shirt and cap echo the bricks and the shape of the window :-)
My favorite cap! My dad bought this at the George Eastman House (Eastman/Kodak Museum) in Rochester New York Years ago. It looks clean because I think its too good to wear. How twisted is that that I do not wear my favorite hat!
18% Grey is the level of grey to which in camera light meters attempt to meter a scene. In other words, your camera meter assumes that whatever you are metering is reflecting back light that averages 18% grey over the entire frame. That is why when you meter a snow scene it will expose dark and you end up with grey snow.

I am probably a typical American in that I wear a baseball cap to protect my eyes and face from the sun. And when it rains, the cap's visor keeps my eyes dry and the view clear.
I looked up the origins of the baseball cap. I had always assumed that it was borrowed from cricket of the 1800s, a game that is popular around the world in the British Commonwealth and even was played in the former British colony of America. But an article by BaggyCap writes that it actually is the other way around. Although cricketers wore various hats, they did not wear the modern eight-panel baggy ball cap with a peak until the Americans invented it. Cricketers loved the functionality of the American baseball cap so much that they borrowed it for cricket.
"Most people justifiably associate the Baggy Cap with the game of cricket...which was played all around the world in the 1800s. There is however no doubt that from the historical perspective at least...this is a commonly held fallacy and a very inaccurate assumption because there is no doubt the origins of the Baggy Cap actually originate from the game of Baseball! … Following Peck & Snyders manufacturing of the Boston style baseball cap … this style of cap quickly became cricket’s preferred style of headwear...and as you can see there are many photos and depictions of cricketers wearing a baggy styled Boston Cap in the mid to late 1800s in the US, Canada and England." — Source: BaggyCap.com

Hat - A covering for the head, especially one with a shaped crown and brim.
This hat rack hangs in our foyer, and as you can see is doing a great job keeping our hats safe and sound. Granted, aside from the two 'straw' hats, the remaining hats are also considered caps.
A few of those caps are 'souvenirs' from places we've visited, purchased when we needed something to protect our heads from the sun and heat during that trip.
