For Macro Mondays - Stitch
-----------------------------------------
This design is sewn on the front of a baseball cap I purchased when I last visited Paris. It's one of my go-to hats when I need to run an errand and I'm having a bad hair day. The logo measures 3" x 2.5". HMM, everyone ! !

I have a huge eclectic taste in music but don't really know much by The Strokes, except for the title of this shot which was captured in May 2017. Enjoy!

I ain't gettin' on no plane fool!
I saw this guy walking around the city a lot back then and this spontaneous portrait was arranged with the nod of a head in agreement and taken quickly as he went about his day. The eye focus was slightly off here but I am told that if I don't mention it you don't see it so forget I said it! Though it is easy to miss at f/1.4 with a subject that is not staying still.
Enjoy!

Previously unpublished eye contact shot from this day, 4th February, in 2020. I remember the original Tron and the 'Light Cycle' contests but haven't seen Tron Legacy, is it any good? Enjoy!

When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
And I wish I was special
You're so fuckin' special
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here.
I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice
When I'm not around
You're so fuckin' special
I wish I was special
But I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here.

A previously unpublished shot from April 2017 that shows off one of the unique natural light situations from a big city - where natural shadows fall in one direction but reflected sunlight shadows fall in the opposite direction. Enjoy!

These are 2 delightful sisters that I chatted with for quite some time when I was out birding. Both of them were shooting with Nikon Z9's and 800mm lens!

Seen at a sports attire shop in Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood where the Chicago Cubs major league baseball team plays. I already have a Cubs hat so I was not a buyer. :-)
Flickr friends, I am back after a break. By the time that our power was restored after an outage last week, it was time for me to make a trip to Chicago where I had a ticket to a game. The Cubs won by a 4-3 score over the Miami Marlins on the night that I was there.

I have lost my perfect hearing.
My whole life I have enjoyed exceptionally acute hearing in both volume and frequency range. Sadly, since my one infection during the last 5 years that I believe to be Covid, I suffered ongoing random occurrences of vertigo that would last for just 24 hours at a time. Immediately after one of those vertigo attacks a few months ago I awoke with sudden onset screaming tinnitus that has been with me ever since. Overnight I lost a lot of hearing range in the upper frequencies too. From hearing clearly up to 21khz to my hearing now falling off from 6khz and above. My audiologist confirmed that, anecdotally, there has been a massive increase in cases of tinnitus in people following Covid infections. It is and has never been 'just a cold'.
It saddens me so much that I can now no longer enjoy perfect peace and quiet.
I have other symptoms commonly found in 'Long Covid' too. I did so well to avoid infection only to get ill early last year.
Thank you all for your support, comments and favourites. They are all greatly appreciated.
Take care.
