Heading out of Illinois into Kentucky, we stopped at the Louisville Slugger Factory / Museum where the world-famous Louisville Slugger bats are created. The award-winning factory tour is a highlight when you visit here . . . The exterior of the museum features a carbon steel baseball bat that leans against and towers over a five-story building. The enlarged bat is a replica of a bat used by Babe Ruth in the 1920s. Weighing 68,000 pounds and measuring 120 feet tall, the bat has been a downtown fixture since 1995!

When the Chicago Cubs major league baseball team broke a 108-year championship drought by winning the 2016 World Series, Kris Bryant (left) and Anthony Rizzo (right) were two of the key players that made it happen. During their time with the Cubs (Bryant, 7 years, and Rizzo, 9 years), the pair came to be known, affectionately, as Bryzzo.
Even though I’m currently taking a break from Flickr, I decided to post this shot today, July 30, 2021, given that both of these players were recently traded away prior to the major league trading deadline on Friday. Javier Baez, another key star of that 2016 team, was also traded on Friday, as the Cubs now look to rebuild for the future.
This shot, taken in 2017, isn’t the greatest, given a lot of grain that had to be cleaned up, and that Bryant is not in focus. But being an ardent Cubs fan, it’s kind of my way of saying, “Thanks for the memories,” I guess.
I’m still in the midst of a major project that is keeping me quite busy, and I’ll continue to be mostly off Flickr for a while yet, though I hope to be able to pop in occasionally.

To quote Buck Martinez, voice of the Toronto Blue Jays. Grandson number 1, getting another hit during a playoff game, that his team won, when they came from behind in the last two innings. He scored the first run for his team, and the winning run. He's at the youngest end of his age group, so, hopefully, he's even better next year. Yeah, I AM braggin'. lol Sadly, they lost yesterday. His team had focus issues while on defence. lolol So, baseball is over for him, and his brother. I think soccer continues till the end of August.

Was inspired to do a square composite by brookeshaden, who wrote a very cool article on how she uses square as the perfect format and how she manages to increase picture size by cropping...

A photoshop project using some tricks with layer masks that I learned yesterday.
Shots were taken with the 18-55mm kit lens, at three different exposures- I decided to take these around 6:45, so every five minutes, the ambient light was decreasing, and I had to keep running back in the house for things. =/
I tried to portray the three sides of my family- that is, each of my two older brothers, and myself. I'm not too sure which is which. Maybe because we all have the same extremes. It's been a while since I last talked face-to-face with them; one's in Philadelphia, and the other off-coast of Georgia. Can't wait until we all get back together again for a couple weeks in December.
