Jacob Simon (Waterford, Conn.) sent relief pitcher Ryan DiPompo's (Jay, Maine) first pitch deep over the left-field fence in the bottom of the 10th inning for a walk-off, three-run home run that gave the Bates College baseball team a 4-1 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington in the Bobcats' home opener at Leahey Field.
After our year-long circumnavacation, we settled down in Durham, NC for my two-year masters degree. I am very excited and happy to be pursuing something that satisfies me intellectually in a great environment. Durham is definitely on the smaller side of cities and towns, but we are still enjoying the process of exploring and learning about our new home.
That pitcher had one wicked side arm. Ended up with a little natural curve on it. It was 3 up, 3 down. 2 SO, one 1-3. Not bad.
