A Lincolnshire Yellow Belly Baron, one of the three that are around the Brayford Pool, this is number 18 on the list of 25. If you're from Lincolnshire then you can class yourself as a yellow belly, so a good local connection with this bright Baron. Larry had an office function to attend downtown, so while he did his thing, I did mine. The Bank and Baron is a pub located in a beautifully renovated 1930's bank building on Stephen Avenue Walk, in the downtown. I was planning to have something healthy like a burger, but saw that they were participating in a fund-raiser for Meals on Wheels, an agency that delivers meals to shut-ins. They develop a special pizza for the event, and $3 goes to the agency. So that's what I had, a Tuscan Scallop Pizza and a nice beer.

Wide open fields, a cold breeze from the ocean and the warmth of the sun. Welcome to Baron Estates! A secluded piece of land away from the noise of the Townlife.

And once again I was able to try myself on something new. The grass I am mainly using here is by Fundati.. its animated and REALLY nice to look at. However, it takes up an incredible amount of prims and once committed it is important go through with it otherwise it looks very cut off. And again I can consider myself lucky to have such a patient client. Thank you for the nice chats and the great opportunity to grow on a new challeng!

Finally, I am back home. First thing I had in mind is to shoot the well known Baron Empain Palace in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt.

Such a Master piece of architecture. It said it's construction was completed in 1911.

Love it !

Notes:

1- Removed unrelated buildings in the background as friends advised

2- Joby Gorillapod, was very useful. Had to hang camera on fence to capture a clear shot.

3- Some parts were very over lighted. I went 2 stops under exposures, but still couldn't get details of some statues. in the front.

Casa Baron is my take on Art Nouveau and Antoni Gaudi. Casa Batllo is one of my top 5 favorite buildings in the world. So when I saw the pieces in the Bionicle underwater sets, I started to see ways that I could finally do some justice to very organic, and free form architecture. This is the result. It has a fully detailed interior as well as a working elevator. Enjoy!

Casa Baron was built in the summer of 2008.

The Kelpies in Falkirk.

The Kelpies are 30-metre high horse-head sculptures, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland.[1] The sculptures were designed by sculptor Andy Scott and were completed in October 2013.[2] The sculptures form a gateway at the eastern entrance to the Forth and Clyde canal, and the new canal extension built as part of The Helix land transformation project. The Kelpies are a monument to horse powered heritage across Scotland.[3]

The sculptures opened to the public in April 2014.[4] As part of the project, they will have their own visitor centre, and sit beside a newly developed canal turning pool and extension. This canal extension reconnects the Forth and Clyde Canal with the River Forth, and improves navigation between the East and West of Scotland.

Preserved Metropoitan-Vickers Co-Bo class 28 locomotive D5705 is seen under restoration inside Baron Street Shed at Bury, of only 20 built and beset with many problems right from the start, so not surprisingly after a short working life of 11 years they all had been withdrawn by the end of 1969.

This is another locomotive that owes its existance to the RTC at Derby, firstly used in their Tribology Test train and then as Carriage Heating Unit TDB968006 at Bristol until it was preserved in 1980.

New to Derby as D5705 on 6/12/58 withdrawn trom Carlisle Kingmoor 09/68

The first time i saw D5705 was under restoration at Matlock in the really early days of Peak Rail in April 1987, now 32 years later it looks like the prospect of riding behind her is a lot lot closer.

Taken whilst participating on an excellent driver experience day on the East Lancashire Railway.

is depicted in the sculpture behind the man. The Baron is head of all the Lwa (spirits) who will end their 40 days of rest during Lent by reappearing. according to the Voodou religion.

I'm off to an event/gig at the hotel made famous by Graham Green in his novel "The Comedians".

The Olofsson Hotel serves a mean rum sour and i shall try to respect the rum and the Lwa tonight.

I couldn't remember the official description of Arald's office, so I kind of just made it up. However, I think it looks all right.

Obviously this is not my best scene. I'm sadly suffering from builder's block ATM, so that's made it hard. For now I've been working on my unsorted LEGO.

Baron Button by Laura Fearn was my daughters' favourite. Baron Button reflects the different services Wiltshire Fire and Rescue provide. Little vignettes show Firefighters at a road traffic accident, putting out a fire, teaching about kitchen safety, air lifting someone to safety and reminding us all to test our Fire Alarms. Wiltshire Fire and Rescue is supporting The Barons’ Charter project together with volunteers from Serve On.

"I am Karl Friedrich Hieronymus, Baron Münchhausen, who had the pleasure of rejecting marriage with Catherine II of Russia"

Illustration by Gustav Doré (1832 – 1883) after Antonio Canova.

Baron von Munchausen is a fictional German nobleman created by the German writer Rudolf Erich Raspe in his 1785 book "Baron Munchausen's Narrative of his Marvellous Travels". The character is loosely based on a real baron, Hieronymus Karl Friedrich, Freiherr von Münchhausen (1720-1797).

After hearing some of Münchhausen's stories, Raspe adapted them anonymously into literary form, first in German as ephemeral magazine pieces and then in English as the book, which was first published in Oxford.. The book was soon translated into other European languages, including a German version.

The fictional Baron's exploits, narrated in the first person, focus on his impossible achievements as a sportsman, soldier, and traveller, for instance riding on a cannonball, fighting a forty-foot crocodile, and travelling to the Moon. Intentionally comedic, the stories play on the absurdity and inconsistency of Munchausen's claims, and contain an undercurrent of social satire.
