Gaios is de hoofdstad van het eiland is Paxos (Paxi). Gaios is de belangrijkste en grootste haven van het eiland. Het ligt in een baai die afgeschermd wordt door het kleine eilandje Agios Nikolaos dat in diezelfde baai ligt en het nog kleinere eiland Panagia dat iets daarbuiten ligt. Daardoor lijkt het alsof Gaios naast een rivier ligt want de afstand tot het eiland is zo’n dertig meter. Het is hier erg mooi. Een wandeling langs het water, waar allerlei bootjes en zeilboten aanmeren is betoverend. De heuvels zijn fraai groen bedekt tot aan het water, vooral met olijfbomen en dennenbomen.
Bij het stadje, dat eerder op een dorp lijkt, zijn leuke winkelstraatjes en pleintjes waar het erg gezellig is. Hier zijn allerlei restaurantjes, vistaverna’s, cafeetjes,

Gaios is the capital of the island of Paxos (Paxi). Gaios is the largest and most important port of the island. It is located in a bay protected by the small island of Agios Nikolaos located in the same bay and the even smaller island of Panagia which lies just beyond. As a result, it seems as if Gaios located next to a river because the distance to the island is about thirty meters. It's very beautiful. A walk along the waterfront, where all kinds of boats and yachts moor is enchanting. The hills are beautiful green cover to the water, especially with olive and pine trees.
In the town, which looks more like a village, are pleasant shopping streets and squares where it is very cozy. Here are all kinds of restaurants, fish tavernas, cafes,

Lazise è un comune di 6.978 abitanti in provincia di Verona, situato sulla sponda orientale del lago di Garda. Questa collocazione geografica gli conferisce una posizione di grande pregio paesaggistico, ma sono presenti anche elementi di grande pregio architettonico e di notevole importanza storica. Oltre a queste peculiarità Lazise può contare sulla presenza di una fonte termale a Colà, di parchi dei divertimenti (Canevaworld e Gardaland, quest'ultimo situato in parte sul territorio di Castelnuovo del Garda, dove ha sede, e in parte sul territorio di Lazise) e un esteso paesaggio agricolo collinare.
Lazise, posta a circa 24 chilometri da Verona, capoluogo della provincia di cui fa amministrativamente parte, si trova sulla sponda orientale del lago di Garda, compreso tra i comune di Castelnuovo del Garda a sud e di Bardolino a nord, mentre confina a ovest con Pastrengo e Bussolengo. Il comune lacisiense occupa una superficie di 64,96 km², anche se le terre emerse impegnano solamente 30 km².

Es bleibt die niederschmetternde Erkenntnis, dass, solange es unterschiedliche Sprachen, gezogene Grenzen, verschiedene angenommene Götter u.s.w. gibt, es auch immer komplett unsinnige Kriege geben wird. Jetzt und in tausenden von Jahren, solange uns so viel Zeit noch bleibt. Irgendeiner fühlt sich doch immer auf den Schlips getreten und will das größte Bärchen in der Tüte sein. Eine Spezies, die sich völlig überzogen und selbstherrlich für die "Krone der Schöpfung" hält, hat es wohl auch nicht anders verdient ...
Sollten wir aus dieser Situation noch mal mit einem blauen Auge davonkommen, werden wir uns wieder abfeiern, wie klug und schlau wir doch gehandelt haben, ohne freilich zu vergessen, im zweiten Teil des Satzes zu erwähnen, WER "der Böse" ist und wie wir gedenken "das Böse" nun aber wirklich endgültig "zu besiegen".
"Krone der Schöpfung" - das ist lächerlich - wir sind eine einzige evolutionäre Energieverschwendung!

Francia - Le Grau du Roi
Il vecchio faro non è più attivo perché sostituito da uno più moderno. E' rimasto in attività soltanto 40 anni.
Tutto cominciò quando questa zona del litorale non popolata faceva ancora parte del comune di Aigues-Mortes, situata ad una decina di chilometri verso l'interno. Durante lo scorrere degli anni l'accesso di quest'ultima al mare fu reso difficile a causa dei vari canali che si interravano. I consoli della città, con l'autorizzazione del re Luigi XV, decisero di costruire un canale per permettere ai battelli da pesca e commerciali di effettuare più facilmente le forniture sino ad Aigues-Mortes.
La decisione venne resa ufficiale dal Parlamento della Linguadoca il 14 agosto 1725 e poi, molto più tardi, nel maggio del 1820, i capitani delle navi reclamarono presso il sindaco la costruzione di un faro all'entrata del canale per poter accedere con più sicurezza. Il progetto e la costruzione furono affidati all'ingegnere Léonor Fresnel.
Di un'altezza di 19 metri e con la lanterna ricoperta in rame rosso, il faro entra in funzione all'inizio del 1829. La sua luce è visibile ad oltre 15 km di distanza. Però con la modifica del litorale, perde d'interesse e si costruisce un nuovo faro più a l'est. Il faro di Grau-du-Roi si spegne definitivamente nel gennaio 1869 quando si accende quello dell'Espiguette.
Dieci anni dopo il comune è ufficialmente creato e chiede allo Stato la cessione del vecchio faro per demolirlo e facilitare l'accesso alla spiaggia. Lo Stato cede la proprietà ma non autorizza la demolizione. Dal 2012 è classificato monumento storico ed essendo in cattivo stato il comune ha deciso di restaurarlo. I lavori dovrebbero cominciare nella primavera 2018 e terminare alla fine del 2019 o inizio 2020. Vi saprò dire fra poco qualcosa di più...

طبعاً هنا في الصورة الأولى كانوا يمشون والثانية لما سمعوا صوت كلب والتفتوا كلهم مع بعض وصورت وطلعت بهالصورة =))!

The German descriptive text is written in Berlin dialect and tells a little story. Title: Well look at that, spring in Berlin, isn't it? The bridge and the city are awakening to spring with cherry blossoms.

GER: De Kirschen blühn uff wie verrückt, de Spree glitzert, als hättse grad 'ne ordentliche Politur jekriegt, und drüber tuckert jemütlich die „Icke“ (kennste wa, die knalljelbe IK U-Bahn) über de Oberbaumbrücke, als hättse Zeit bis in de Puppen.
Der eene von die zwee Türme, der glotzt stur in de Sonne, mit sein Bärchen oben druff, steiht da wie 'n richtiger Berliner: stolz, 'n büschen knorrig, aber mit 'nem juten Herz. Unten drunter brummt de Alltag, Leude mit Stöpseln in de Ohren, Touris mit Knipsen, und mittendrin – 'ne lütte Rotzjöre am Fenster von de „Icke“. Die kiekt raus, dösert vor sich hin, vielleicht träumt se von wat Jroßem, oder einfach nur von 'nem Eis in de Schönhauser.
Der Turm hat schon so manchet Kommen und Jehen mitjekriegt – Mauer, Freiheit, Techno, Currywurst – und nu dit kleene Mädel. Er sagt zwar nix, aber wenn er's könnt, würd er flüstern: „Mach dir keen Kopp, kleene. Berlin is manchma'n büschen Knorke, aber ick sag dir, dat lohnt sich.“
Und die „Icke“? Die rattert einfach weiter, als wär dit ihr täglicher Liebesbrief an de Stadt.
