Out front in God's garden last year. Counting my blessings.
Second time around: If one more person posted another shot of Baltimore Orioles in breeding plumage I would burst, so I show the only one I ever saw I think and in my own front yard. Was I blessed or what.
Given the bold orange and black colors of the male Baltimore Oriole, these birds are hard to miss, even though they are often seen high in deciduous trees.
The bird takes its name from the 17th century Lord Baltimore, because its colors resemble those of that family's coat of arms. And though the Baltimore Oriole is the state bird of Maryland and the mascot of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team, this one was photographed in Illinois.
I thought for a moment that this Baltimore Oriole may have spotted his next meal, but he moved on shortly after this photo was taken without partaking of whatever it was that he was examining.

This Juvenile Male Baltimore Oriole stopped by for quick photo opp on the hummingbird feeder in my backyard. I like it when I don't have to get out of my chair.
Barely could see this Baltimore Oriole sitting at the very top of this tree. I could hear him singing and it took me a bit to find him...then to get my focus on him and try to get a shot before he flew away...I was lucky on this one!
Male Baltimore Oriole going after a little bug. It's been coming to the backyard feeder for a couple weeks.
We are having so much fun watching watching our Orioles.. I am taking pics through the patio door. The babies are now coming to get some jelly too. I could spend my whole day watching them but alas I need to get some work done too!!
