Ummmm, hey wanna RP = like Demon Doings... Just a little fading of Angels going on, I promise it won't hurt. Please?
WOOT True Blood's new season started tonight!!!! It was a good episode and I'm so excited for this season!! I love this show. As I'm sure you all know by now, I'm obsessed with vampires. I love them in so many different ways haha. I want to do bad things with them ;)
Today was super slow at work, made some money, but not as much as I was hoping for. Oh well though. That's life. And I need to start packing everything, but it's depressing packing by myself. I'm moving on Sunday. I'm so nervious!!
Random Fact : Vampire hysteria and corpse mutilations to “kill” suspected vampires were so pervasive in Europe during the mid-eighteenth century that some rulers created laws to prevent the unearthing of bodies. In some areas, mass hysteria led to public executions of people believed to be vampires.
A "classic" shot of Bristol Omnibus Co. no. 6031, a Gardner-engined example of the never very numerous FSF Lodekka. When the neighbouring Western National Omnibus Company had identified a need for FSFs at a time when they had recently gone out of production, BOC had agreed to part with a number of the type. This one returned to its original owner when, in a frenzy of "rationalisation", the new National Bus Company decided to eliminate Western National's logic-affronting enclave at Trowbridge and transfer the Wiltshire town's bus operation to the Bristol company.
During its relatively short absence (August 1967-December 1969) the vehicle mostly worked from Totnes. The fickle Western National company seems to have re-allocated it shortly before the Trowbridge handover as a way of getting rid of it. It was photographed at BOC's Kensington Depot, Bath ...flogged years later, post-deregulation, by BOC's property-rich successor, "Badgerline". When I took the photo, during the afternoon of Monday 22nd December 1975 I was perfectly well, but by the evening I was slumped miserably at home with a prodigious cold. For me, the photographs I took on this occasion have always been slightly tainted by an association with Scotties, Lem-Sip and Zubes.
A dear old friend of mine, Mark, got married yesterday. The wedding was a lively, beautiful affair with lots of love and laughter. I know Mark from back in the worst of my addictions (and perhaps the best of my poetry, or at least the most prolific). He is a man with a great big heart who loves big and always hurt big, too. He's struggled a lot in his 50 years on this earth, but he keeps on ticking. He was the man Pete & I chose to marry us and he did it with great style.
It was so wonderful to see him so happy. He and his bride had the most awesome first dance song ever: Bad Things, by Jace Everett. This is the opening song to the HBO series True Blood, and if you haven't watched that show, do yourself a favor and at least (!Warning! disturbing images!) watch the opening title sequence using this song, because it fucking rocks. It is a work of art that blows my mind every time.
Ahem. Got carried away there, sorry. Anyway, the evening was a bit surreal for me because there was a re-convergence of a bunch of us drunkards from 1992-95 sitting there all dressed up, including my ex (kiddo's father). It was a bit strange, to put it mildly.
This pic is a bit grainy and I have others of their first dance that came out more clear, but her sleeve's motion and the overall sense of spirit here won it over as my favorite.

It's fun to see these two plants with unusual flower colours next to each other for comparison. All this picture needs are some Ixia viridiflora, Lachenalia viridiflora, Puya berteroniana, and Chlorociboria to complete the cyan masterpiece!
Walking to lunch today in Brevard, North Carolina, I came across this Swallowtail with two totally different wing colorations. I've never seen anything like it! At first, I thought it was two different butterflies piggy-backing around (itself bizarre) and I'm so very lucky to have had the camphone with me. Add to the list of odd creatures seen in this town: Swallowtails of duelling identity, white squirrels, alligators in whitewater rivers, and blue-light lightening bugs.
I'm going to look at my other shots and see if they are any clearer.

Sunday is the day of reflection...
These ol' green eyes of mine...oh the things they've seen.
Great things.
Insignificant things.
Things that would make you smile.
Things that made me cry.
Horrifying things.
Uplifting things.
You may be surprised at the things I've seen. These things have made me. And I wouldn't change a thing.
Looking forward to the things I will see tomorrow.
"Notwithstanding the deep things I saw and heard, and the admitted vividness the impression produced on me by these things, I cannot prove even now whether I was right or wrong in my hideous inference. For after all Akeley's disappearance establishes nothing."
