About 5 years ago I ripped all my music CDs to FLAC audio so I could then convert them to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 or whatever the format du jour was.
Just recently found out that some of the flac files on my hard drive are now corrupted - which is annoying.
Fortunately I took backups so instead of having to re-rip lots of music CDs I can copy files from DVDs.
Each disk holds around 8 albums and there are around 30+ so it's a pain but not as bad as re-ripping all my CDs.
The Thursday evening before SXSW started, I took part in the ATX Startup Crawl, in which various Austin startup companies invite the public to learn more about them. Spanning was among my first stops of the evening. Spanning provides ''ironclad'' backup of Google Apps data; see spanning.com/ to learn more. Spanning generously treated Startup Crawlers to delicious munchies from the Chi'Lantro food truck parked in their back alley. It was my first time trying Chi-Lantro (www.chilantrobbq.com/), and I'm now addicted to their BBQ Tofu Tacos and Tofu Kimchi Fries! So a very big THANK YOU to Spanning for being such awesome hosts!
