Com discografia longa e invejável, Gilberto Gil estreou em disco no final dos anos 60, com "Louvação", mas explodiu para todo o país junto com o Tropicalismo e seus conterrâneos Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa e Maria Bethânia. Desde então, sua música atravessou gêneros tão distintos como o reggae ("Kaya N'Gan Daya"), samba e baião ("Eu, Tu, Eles"). Alcançou popularidade ao mesmo tempo em que seu estilo de escolha, o Kuduro, começava a ganhar espaço pelo mundo - através de nomes como M.I.A., Diplo, e Buraka Som Sistema. O produtor auto-didata começou como dançarino, imitando passos de Michael Jackson. Zim Link interviewed many amazing people and met many. Ok so what was the down side well.... hmmm..... there really wasn't one. big thank you to the zimlink team on the night Tony Tokunbo Eteka Fernandez Simba Chioto Nasilele Ailola Eugene Ulman Romeo Fano Mabe oh almost forgot to mention zimlink won a award the team and i excepted it on behalf of all of zimlink truly humbled and just in oar thank you it means a lot to get an award of this calibre and is nice to be recognised for the work the zimlink family is doing.
