As well as the excursion, this day was a testing day of sorts.
Got a new backpack a few weeks ago to carry gear (Mindshift BackLight). Check! Carried some extra gear just to add some weight and it felt great.
Got some new boots this past week that are water proof. Double check!! Feet kept dry.
And wanted to test using my Canon wide angle on the Sony camera. Autofocus speed is not great, so switch to manual focusing which isn't a big deal for landscapes. Focus peaking makes it easy. Check!
A good day :))

Fresh water flows through a granite fountain at St. James Farm, a historic equestrian estate in Warrenville. The fashionable fountain, designed by sculptor Marcia Weese, serves as a watering trough for horses during riding competitions. Thanks for viewing!

These wild teasel are fantastic to photograph in backlight. And if there is a dark background too, it's a real gift for the camera..

Trying to finish my planning for upcoming trip to Skye & Glencoe - trying not to get too excited about possibility of some snow later in the week. hence using some pre-processed images in my 'bank'.
Another shot from my first evening in Norfolk as the sun was setting and the sky started to kick off. I was hurrying to a location to shoot www.flickr.com/photos/184798091@N07/52670682611/in/datepo... but the back light on the grasses together with the sky and the main tree caught my eye so stopped quickly to shoot it. Not a 'portfolio' shot but I liked it! With the way the grasses were moving there was no way I could focus stack nor get it sharp front to back so I went for focusing on the main subject and having a very soft feel to the foreground grass.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend,
