and with some minor encrustations and a flan crack at 5 o’clock on obverse,
otherwise virtually as struck and almost Fdc In its earliest years, the Empire of Trebizond stretched almost as far as the Bosphorus. Its first two rulers, David and Alexius I do not have appeared to have issued coins but the third ruler, Andronicus I Gidon, son-in-law of Alexius I, issued a large variety of coins of every denomination apart from hyperpyra, several of them copying in some degree the issues of his earlier namesake Andronicus I Comnenus. This coin and the following 5 lots come from a single hoard. The emperor is identified as Andronicus although the type is loosely copied from an electrum trachy of John II (DO IV, 8). I'm loving this backless dress by Trendy Blendy just as much as I was loving Goa. This dress can be worn casually and also for a formal event. It all depends on how you accessorize it.
I wore it for a casual lunch in Goa. Printed dresses are always the easiest to accessorize so if you don't have time to dress up go for something printed.
Exploring Goa I have learnt even more about this beautiful part of India. They have their own dishes and even different eating habits than other parts of India. It's quite interesting and the place is so beautiful I will be posting many shoots from Goa in the next few weeks.

Statement of Significance
What is Significant?
The Skipping Girl Vinegar sign is an animated neon sign consisting of a flat painted silhouette background with neon highlighting and backless neon tube on steel support substructure that simulates the figure of a girl, known as 'Little Audrey' skipping over a skipping rope with painted letters spelling 'Vinegar' highlighted with neon at the base of the sign.
The current sign erected in 1970 is not the original sign. The original was erected in 1936 and is believed to be the first animated neon sign in Melbourne. The original sign was situated above the Skipping Girl Vinegar Factory at 627 Victoria Street Abbotsford and remained there until 1968 when the company moved premises to Altona. The sign was not re-erected at the company's new site.
For the thirty-two years that the Skipping Girl sign stood above the vinegar factory it was regarded as a local landmark and a public outcry followed its removal. In response to this a campaign was undertaken to reinstate it. With the involvement of businessman John Benjamin, a new Skipping Girl Vinegar sign was reinstated on the roof of Benjamin's Crusader Plate Company, a short distance from its original location.
The new Skipping Girl Vinegar sign varies a little from the original, being slightly smaller, the girl having slightly longer hair and with her dress flying up higher at the back. Its new location is at a lower height which has reduced the prominence and visibility of the sign.

Why is it Significant?
The Skipping Girl Vinegar sign is of historical significance as one of an important collection of signs marking Victoria's industrial heritage in Richmond. Richmond has the greatest concentration of surviving sky-signs in the state, which includes the Nylex, Victoria Bitter, Slade Knitwear and Pelaco signs. The signs have strong associations with the industrial base of the former City of Richmond. These electric sky-signs were once a prominent feature of the Melbourne skyline and are diminishing in number.
The Skipping Girl Vinegar sign is of historical significance for its associations with the original sign, which is believed to be the first animated neon sign in Melbourne.
The Skipping Girl sign is of social significance as a popular landmark which is referred to in popular culture, and is often included in lists of Melbourne landmarks and icons. The community response to the removal of the original sign is an indication of its social significance.

Of the highest rarity, apparently only very few specimens known. A very intriguing and historically important issue. Lightly toned, struck on a very broad flan, insignificant traces of overstriking, otherwise good very fine
Prior to becoming a Seleucid king, Demetrius I was held hostage in Rome in keeping with the terms of the Treaty of Apamaea of 188 B.C. During his detention a succession of kings ruled the Seleucid world, including Demetrius’ father Seleucus IV, his uncle Antiochus IV and his young cousin Antiochus V. At a time when the Romans were punishing Antiochus V for treaty violations, Demetrius escaped captivity, raised an army and landed in Syria in the fall of 162 B.C. He found quick support, and his rival Antiochus V was soon executed, leaving Demetrius the new Seleucid king. With all of the political intrigue unfolding in Syria, the Romans represented their interests by encouraging Timarchus, the satrap of Media (and/or Babylonia), to revolt against Demetrius. (In fact, the Romans may have merely lent their support to a revolt that already had been active since c.163/2 against Demetrius’ predecessor, Antiochus V.) It is difficult to say how much progress Timarchus made, other than that he certainly captured Seleucia on the Tigris, where he struck some of his revolt coins. Upon learning of the revolt, Demetrius marched eastward early in 161; when their armies clashed in the spring, perhaps not far from Babylon, Timarchus was killed. Though the troubles of his reign were far from over, Demetrius was once again the sole Seleucid king. If the coinage of Seleucia on the Tigris is any indication, important events took place in the aftermath of the battle. The Babylonians conferred upon Demetrius the epithet Soter (‘saviour’) and he seems to have married his sister Laodicea, with whom he eventually had three children (two of whom, Demetrius II and Antiochus VII, would be kings). The first coins Demetrius struck at Seleucia – including this tetradrachm – were of a victorious and commemorative nature, and bore his new epithet. They appear to celebrate his marriage, as they are the only coins of his reign that portray Laodicea. The fact that so many (if not all) of these tetradrachms are overstruck on coins of Timarchus probably reflects the hurried circumstances of their production and, simultaneously, a desire to erase the memory of the rebellion.
