Yates mill dates back to the 1760's. Of the 70 mills in Wake County this is the only one left. It has sustained damage from many hurricanes and is still standing today. You can even go out there on certain weekends to see a live demonstration, and purchase corn meal from the mill.

Stunning street art at the Back Alley Gallery in Lismore, NSW.

I enjoy officiating at weddings. I haven't done very many in the past few years, because of the physical layout of the church I was serving. But, I have tree weddings lined up, occurring before I move again in June. This should be fun!

Back Stabbers is a studio album by Philadelphia soul group The O'Jays, released in August of 1972 on Philadelphia International Records. Great song - You Tube:

Lyrics:

What they do

They smile in your face, all the time they wanna take your place the back stabbers (back stabbers)

They smile in your face, all the time they wanna take your place the back stabbers (back stabbers)

All you fellow's, who have someone, and you really care, yeahhhhhhh, yeah, yeah

Then it's all of you fellows who better beware, yeah, yeah

Somebody's out, to get your lady

A few of your buddies they sure look shady

Blades are long, clenched tight in their fist

Aimin' straight at your back

And I don't think they'll miss

(What they do!)

(They smile in your face)

All the time they want to take your place

The back stabbers (back stabbers)

I keep gettin', all these visits, from my friends, yeah,

(What they doing to me)

They come to my house again and again and again and again, yeah

So are they there to see my woman

I don't even be home but they just keep on comin'

What can I do to get on the right track

I wish they'd take some of these knives off my back

(What they do)

(They smile in your face)

All the time they want to take your place

The back stabbers (back stabbers)

Low down... dirty...

(What they do!)

(They smile in your face)

Smiling faces... smiling faces sometimes

(Back stabbers)

(They smile in your face)

I don't need... low down, dirty bastards

(Back stabbers) [fade]

...it was a heck of a weekend, and way too fast. We got back yesterday, but after driving all night long, I was beat. Visiting with the family was a blast, and seeing my Dad out of the hospital and puttering around the yard was the best. Watching him and my Mom together was special, and having him at my niece's graduation party was great...family is terrific. Thank you so very much for your thoughts, comments, and especially prayers for my Dad...I appreciate them all.

...I got my laptop back, too, and it's clean...now I have to reinstall everything, but at least I'm up and running. I have two more weeks left of my track break, and I'm going to Flickr as much as I can...my name is Jon, and I am a Flickr addict...hahahah. I will be to your posts as soon as I can.

...I also want to thank you all for your continued support, even when I haven't been around. That means a lot to me. This is a flower in my Dad's garden...SOOC. I hope you're all having a wonderful day. :~}

Well as I'm sure you've noticed I took a sort of unannounced Hiatus. Life got the better of me and a few things fell through the cracks, on top of my insain schedule I just sort of lost my inspiration, but as of lately I have found it again and I'll be starting back on my 365 with more dedication than ever. :)

January brings those comments - Do I really have to go back?

Cold rather damp weather is no fun for a bear, even if a hat is found, the fur gets matted, one advantage in boys' standard school raincoats, the arms of the coat are really too long for a bear, but they do keep ones paws dry.

My big girl is going back to school on Wednesday. Second grade is going to be so much fun!! She is so smart I just can't believe it. And seriously, can you believe this little beauty is only 7?!

I asked her last week if she was excited to go back. She said "yes". I asked what she was most excited about and she said to see her friends again, and math. . . she LOVES math! lol Silly kiddo!

For Flickr Lounge weekly theme - Front view and turn around. Took a couple of shots on the way home from visiting my daughter today.

Black-backed Kingfisher or Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher or Three-toed Kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca) is a small, red and yellow kingfisher, averaging 13 cm (5.1 in) in length, yellow underparts with glowing bluish-black upperparts. This is a widespread resident of lowland forest, endemic across much of Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The preferred habitat is small streams in densely shaded forests. In the Konkan region of southwest India, it begins to breed with the onset of the Southwest Monsoon in June. The nest is a horizontal tunnel up to a metre in length. The clutch of 4-5 eggs hatches in 17 days with both the male and female incubating. The birds fledge after 20 days and a second brood may be raised if the first fails. The young are fed with geckos, skinks, crabs, snails, frogs, crickets and dragonflies.

Variants of this specie have been recorded and the difference between them is the color of certain parts of their plumage.

The Black-backed Kingfisher is well known to be the most brilliantly coloured bird in the world... www.guardian.co.uk/science/punctuated-equilibrium/2011/ju...

Hi everyone! I'm back from a week in France. I went to Saint-Bresson in Les Vosges with my mother and her partner. It was very beautifull, and we walked a lot through the mountains. I haven't made many pictures, the weather didn't really coöperate ;) But here are a few. Taken in front of the house, this was our view :)

So, now I can catch up with all of you again, and I hope you all had a nice christmas!
