Oshana, an African Lion, gets some unwanted attention from one of her four cubs, all born in June.

Skulptur eines Bullriders vor dem Old West Museum in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

It's that time of year... Time for back to school... And this year, my girls are not students... My oldest daughter got a position as a Parapro for a Pre-K class and my youngest daughter is doing her internship in Kindergarten... Luckily, they are at the same school and will be just across the hall from each other... Today, they had Open House and got to meet their little students...

The artist stood back to admire his work. He'd been commissioned to create this scale model of the Statue of Liberty for the museum's new exhibition and it was nearly complete. He'd finally finished applying the base colors and now all that was needed were a few finishing touches.

This vignette was created for Category B of the Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigs Series 6 contest.

The requirement of this category was to create an architectural scene between a Series 6 minifig (in this case, Lady Liberty) and one or more minifigs from Series 1 to 5 (in this case, the Artist from Series 4).

As required for the contest, this is the vignette without Lady Liberty, the Series 6 minifig.

See 4a to see what this vignette looks like with the Lady Liberty minifig included.

Back of the shutter. Aperture ring and four screws. I tried to remove them, hoping that some sort of back plate would come off, or shutter would come out.

It didnt. It seems that the shutter has to be disassembled mostly from top, where there are some additional screws holding it in a cup like shell.

The obigatory handheld 'back at where we started after a railtour' night shot. Often they don't turn out so well. But this one's alright :)

The newborn Black Wildebeest (Connochaetes gnou) calf was shaky on its legs and kept falling back down.

One of the best things about going away, is coming back and seeing their little faces light up when they see me!

I am continuing to go to the Fitness Center at the Valdosta Country Club about 2 or 3 times a week and workout with my personal trainer. This is the second week that Billy has had me do 4 minutes on the treadmill as a part of my routine -- 5 exercises at 4 times each. I've been walking to the mailbox and back twice a day for 5 days a week. I am watching what I eat. At first I was eating 1200 calories a day. Now I'm eating about 1500 calories a day. I have lost about 4 pounds. And last, but not least, I'm still attending my Line Dance class on Tuesday evenings. I'm not great at line dancing, but I do stay up on the floor moving for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

and I cannot handle it.

Day Twenty Four

August 6th 2010

Looking back to June 1987 and a Southampton Corporation Routemaster probably was the best way to travel, especially with a helpful conductor to assist you. Introduced to compete with the Solent Blue Line the RMs took fleet numbers following on from Southampton's Regents, the last of which was 402 delivered new in 1967!

Looking back into the sunset when coming from the airport. Another nice stay in Sweden is over. Very busy but also very good.
