I really enjoyed making this quilt, it's a pattern I would use again!

Did you notice the one white square that is out of place? I decided to leave it & call it the "escaping pixel" :)

I think I might even like the back better. The grid quilting on the soft blossoms looks great.

I had a craving for granny squares...

Cut out six four inch squares from your chosen fabric - I chose three different prints.

A bunch of us got together secretly to make an ABC baby quilt for Ayumi, and she just received it! The plan was hatched and beautifully conducted by Krista, so a big thanks to her for all of the hard work that she put into this! You can see the whole quilt on Ayumi's photostream and even more shots of it on Krista's:

Many of the blocks, including mine, were made using patterns from Kumiko Fujita's book Patchwork Patterns 318. The grasshopper, 6.5" inches, has 26 pieces and 6 Y seams. For the record, I'd only tackle a block that complicated for Ayumi!!! The tiny grasshopper print used for the background is a Heather Ross one that wasn't used in her line "Far, Far Away" but was printed on Spoonflower. The green text print is a Suzuko Koseki, and the pink is Kumiko Fujita. See how it says "little lamb"? The fabric on the legs is from Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt; thanks to the talented Jeannette (www.flickr.com/photos/48595381@N07/) for sending it to me!

I think these might be the best baby blankets around! So soft, and in such great colors (and quick to make, too!) Blogged here.

Finally finished the baby quilt made out of Heather Bailey's Freshcut fabrics.

Handmade by me

Deisgned by me and Tone Finnanger

* Handmade cotton baby quilt.

- Double sided.

- Each side has 9 by 9 squares of 10 by 10 cm (4 by 4 inches).

- Made from all kinds of (mainly small) pieces of cotton fabric from my stash.

- I hand-sewed all crossings of both layers together, with the fiberfill in between, in almost invisible stitches.

- I cut hundreds more of these cotton squares, because I plan on making more of these baby quilts.

* Handgemaakt katoenen baby dekentje.

- Dubbelzijdig.
