Finally some warmer weather arrived and this beautiful Northern Cardinal male decided to take advantage of the warm temperatures. He perched nicely on the Eastern Redbud tree for the photo.

You could hear me say Awww as these three adorable grizzly bear cubs came walking near the mother grizzly bear. I was actually safely in my car when this picture was taken :-)!
I can't help but go "Awww" every time they do this. I cropped this one a little closer than usual to show their cute faces :-)!
This is a black-necked stilt chick. So cute walking around the pond looking for food. This guy was about the size of a small child fist, but eventually the grow up to be larger than an American Robin, but smaller than a crow. Maybe the size of a dove or something. I read that they start walking around (if awkwardly) about 2 hours after hatching. The black-necked stilt has very long legs - the longest legs in proportion to the body of any bird except the flamingo.

So, Washington State is home to some of the most beautiful mountain areas in the country.
Sadly, we now have wildfires and smoke every September and they are staying longer, coming sooner, and getting closer each year. That being said - the sunrises (when you can see the mountain through the smoke) can be interesting.
And that shaft of light about slayed me! Aww, Shuksan - I heart you so much! Happy #MountainMonday friends and #HappyHalloween !!!!!
