Okay, this is part of the story of rebuilding society so, here goes nothing...
"Alright, you've probably at least heard about a type of rouge "Chicken Walker" by now. The good news is, if you can see this, it means you are still alive. The bad news is, well, pretty much everything else. If you have been feeling depressed lately, it is highly advised that you do not continue watching the program. Alright, so you probably have been wondering where the he** this beast came from. Stay tuned to find out. Just kidding, here you go. Several companies had been experimenting with self-controlled mechanical walkers. They were pretty much built the same way as human controlled, except these were controlled by an extremely high tech artificial "brain" that was designed to assess risks and act accordingly. During a test, the "brain" assessed that its creators were risks to it, and killed them all. Then it escaped. It was actually a police officer Dan Higgins that first came across it. He radioed in when he saw it moving towards him. As it moved closer, he pulled out a 9mm pistol on it, but stayed on the radio. The "brain" immediately assessed "risk" and blew him to bits with one of its six “smart" (automatically controlled, also called Fire and Forget) missiles. The radio was still on, but the officer was surely dead. The local police station immediately new it had a huge problem on their hand, one that they were by no means capable dealing with and immediately requested military assistance. Two Humvee jeeps were immediately dispatched, but both were quickly eliminated with its 37.64x12mm cannon. From there on, the "brain" considered all humans as a risk, and now kills everybody on sight. This concludes our, very solemn newscast for tonight. Our thought and prayers to everybody out there with dead our injured loved ones.

there you go!
The rocks were done in encrusted embroidery style then painted over. The fish were crocheted in miniature, the lilies are mini tissue pompoms painted with watercolors. the grass is cross stitch floss and the lily pads are watercolor painted fabric.
All together the project took about three weeks, though I took many breaks to make other things and uncross my eyes from time to time.
I have very little information on this theatre in Clarksburg, WV. If anyone cares to fill me in with its name or the date of it's construction, that would be cool. Very cool.
Because this theatre is awesomesauce!!!! It seems to be at least partially vacant, however... :(
Just a quick picture of me, trying to get my awesomesauce suspenders, which are almost as hard to photograph as my hair.
Also, jingle bell on the collar. *smiles!*
Suspenders rock.

Day 107 of Gratitude
Dressing Up
This tiger has made more appearences in my life than my reading glasses. It has been requested to make appearances at least three times and got me a killer grade for an assignment in University. While it is my most popular costume it is not my only one. I have a bin full of all kinds of pieces. I love to dress up. Rarely is it just a hat or interesting makeup. It's usually head to toe awesomeness. I wish I could find a way to get paid for this. I'd have a walk-in closet with a costume for every theme and then a dresser with my normal clothes. Is that weird? Who cares! To me it's lots of fun. It's awesomesauce!
Note: the reason why I'm thankful for this today is because we had a big halloween dressup party at work. The kids were so cute! I wish I could have shared a photo of them but I can't do that. I'm sure you'll see a few more dress-up related photos throughout the rest of this project. Happy Halloween!
Who lives in a pinapple under the sea? Your guess is as good as mine... (The body design is based on that of Moko of brickshelf and I do not claim it as my own.)
Kathryn Williams live at Purcell Room, Southbank. This was such a lovely relaxing show in such an amazing and intimate venue. Kathryn was very engaging with the audience and provided a lot of jokes and anecdotes throughout the tuning sessions (and joked at Neill that he was intentionally tuning longer than needed to make her do more vamping). She showcased a lot of new songs from her new album The Quickening as well as play a few oldies.

It all just started with an act of desperation and boredom really. Writing single words on post-it's I bought at the dollar store and taking pics of them because frankly there was nothing else to do.
I wanted to see single words that meant something to me. Words that I usually don't see alone...like "Continue" or even "Begin" and my fave "Commit" Then I thought that taking a picture of the post-it was a neater way of holding on to that reminder than the post-it alone. Then it had to have that look like I was holding on to it for dear life. It had to show that it was something I carried around. That's where the crumple came about...and the wrinkles are great for the camera.
Doubles roll: shot entire roll of Vegas Fremont Experience show above (aliens and ufos) then wound same roll back up and shot it again - most photos from a friend's concert, and their Heaven & Hell themed birthday party.
*NOTE* Whitney Houston (RIP) passed shortly before my Vegas trip, so the Fremont show had an unexpectedly awesome tribute to her as the grand finale...SO INTERESTING how the photos from her tribute happen to show over the heaven/hell party frames...INTERESTING STUFF!

I'm making homemade ketchup from this recipe www.instructables.com/id/Ketchup-Catsup-Recipe/ go make some! It's awesomesauce, literally!
The Swedish player Alfredsson pops one past the Slovakian goalie during the Men's Ice Hockey Quarter Final during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics game between Sweden and Slovakia.
I find it hilarious how the players that score the goals almost always have their sticks back to normal before the puck even hits the back of the net, and the goalies are always watching the puck go by them, just longingly wishing that they were fast enough to get a hand or foot out there to block it.

this pretty marzipanda girl has been busy playing in Ada's room since she arrived a couple of weeks ago.
Ada fell head over heels in love with this snaggletooth and asked really nicely if this could be Lilly's best friend.
Lilly is Ada's doll, a sweet princess di-o-rama custom. who has been Ada's doll for many years.
maybe it's only fair she get another one? as long as I get to play with her too, and take pics from time to time!
oh, and this awesomesauce dusty pink mimsy hat is a gift from the wonderful Abby!! thank you, sweetie!!!
(Nor is it "Are they cute?")
I haven't read the book (or whatever it is :) but I've seen the quote in a LOT of animal rights FAQs and very likely in Peter Singer's "Animal liberation", which is pretty much the coolest book ever.
Here's more of the quote:
"The day may come when the rest of the animal creation may acquire those rights which never could have been witholden from them but by the hand of tyranny. The French have already discovered that the blackness of the skin is no reason a human being should be abandoned without redress to the caprice of a tormentor. It may one day come to be recognised that the number of the legs, the villosity of the skin, or the termination of the os sacrum are reasons equally insufficient for abandoning a sensitive being to the same fate. What else is it that should trace the insuperable line? Is it the faculty of reason or perhaps the faculty of discourse? But a full-grown horse or dog, is beyond comparison a more rational, as well as a more conversable animal, than an infant of a day or a week or even a month, old. But suppose the case were otherwise, what would it avail? The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?"
