As some of you might have noticed, I wasn't very active on Flickr the last few weeks except Crazy Tuesday ... very busy day job and decreasing energy and muse
So I am 'running away', heading for the mountains (my happy place), and taking a break for about a fortnight ... to recharge the batteries and clear my mind : ))
I will try to catch up when I am back ! Take care <3

We will go to the Allgäu Alps this time, staying in Germany as we aren't fully vaccinated yet

I went on a photo shoot with two Flickr friends on Friday at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam, which used to be an "insane asylum." Most of it is closed now, with only a few buildings still in use. This one, in particular caught my eye, as it looks rather sinister. Unfortunately, we weren't able to go inside...I believe this building is condemned anyway, as it was definitely falling apart. I couldn't help but think of all the horrible things that went on here, and all the sad and depressed people that left here with no place to go but the street.
This White Squirrel was not comfortable with me watching him eat his walnut, so he decided to make a run for it!

2015 was such an interesting year. I feel like it was one of those pivot moments in life where the starting point, and sometimes the ending points, were set in motion this year. On many levels.
Thank you all for your friendship and your kindness. Seeing your amazing work on a daily basis and corresponding with you as been an uplifting and inspiring experience. It has changed my life forever for the better and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that.
The best of luck, love and happiness to you and yours in the new year.

Hot air balloons are inflated and launched for an evening flight at the 2017 Balloons Over Bavarian Inn event in Frankenmuth, Michigan.

He flew away FAST and posed for no more shots. Lightly marked with a lot of blue for a male. These are from wild swallowtails that laid eggs in our yard ... that I took in after predators took out half of the caterpillars in one night last August. They've been with me 8 months ... and more still to open!
UPDATE 4-24-22: we've released 8 - including 4 in one day - all healthy! As of 4-26-22 hoping we released one more ...
