Decal application & painting by me

I know I'm a day late and a dollar short but here are my annual "Awareness Troopers" for this October. Arealight's super awesome one-off helmets inspired me to make these two specifics figs. I also used Arealight's printed curved torso for Sabine. I hand painted some silver & pink onto the jetpack and the rangefinder before I added Fineclonier's decals to finish off the fig. The RC came together real quick too. Fineclonier under printed the blue so it pops against the pink so well! CAC's pink sniper rifle was a freebie I got with an order and it was the perfect accessory to go with this troop!

Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. To be mindful is to be truly alive and present with those around you and with what you are doing. We bring our body and mind into harmony while we wash the dishes, drive the car or take our morning cup of tea.

One thing I’m aware of when I crossdress as a woman is just how much inner joy and excitement I feel. I am not unhappy with my life as a man yet when I dress up as a woman I feel more confident and at ease. I have no intention of ever becoming a woman full time through surgery and hormones but I definitely desire to spend time presenting as a female.

I have deep fears about this as the reality is I am not a woman and can never really know what that reality is like for real women. I am merely a facade and, the bottom line, a man enjoying himself wearing make-up and women’s clothing. I admit there is a part of me that always wanted to be a girl but I see this as a mild existence of transsexualism. It’s not enough to make me transition but I feel it is partly what motivates me to dress up as a woman.

I say dress up as that is undeniably an aspect I really enjoy. It is also a form of performance. I am playing a role I have created. Like an actor adopting a character for their performance. I do get into being my female alter-ego and have at times felt so at home when I become her that I am thrilled to believe I am a woman. Ultimately, I know I’m not and I am in that privileged position of enjoying myself wearing make-up, dresses, heels and shaving my legs. All that I do is create an illusion of being a woman. The reality for women is not all about make-up, hair, clothes and high heels. I’m aware I am focusing on aspects of femininity that men find attractive when women choose them. My fear is I am insulting women by doing this. For me I have a deep desire to dress up as a woman but I feel maybe I am indulging in a male fantasy of women. It’s an awareness that causes me some unease about my cross-dressing.

I find emotionally I do feel more free when I cross-dress and I become somewhat delusional. I find myself not wanting to be a man ever again. That emotion is powerful and it always occurs yet I know within a few hours it will lose it’s potency and I do return to being a man.

I like feeling feminine and I dream, oh how I dream, of looking feminine. I feel very much at home appearing as a woman and do experience a yearning for it to be real. I am also aware a part of me is enjoying the thrill of dressing up, the make-up, the wigs, the dresses and the high heels, it is more a case of female impersonation than being a true female.

I know my description of myself as a transvestite is a description most cross-dressers despise but the reality is I am a transvestite! I live as a man but I occasionally like to dress up as a woman. That dressing up does bring out emotional responses from within me and I do love the feeling of presenting myself as a woman. It enables the part of me that wishes I was girl some freedom and yet I always feel a bit like an actor playing a role.

I am genuinely thrilled I am a transvestite, I like being one and I like the knowledge I’m a man yet I can put on make-up and a dress and enjoy myself wearing them. It’s not what most men wish to do but since the growth of the Internet I have become aware that far more men than I ever could have imagined also enjoy dressing up as women. The term transvestite may not be popular but I am delighted to know there are a lot of us all over the world. As a teenager, I felt alone with my desire to dress up as a woman so it’s still a marvel to me to realise so many men feel the same way. Just browsing here on Flickr is proof of that!

which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

The photographers became aware of the mother bear when she came out from behind the beached boat on the mudflats and pointed their cameras at her (the cub lagged behind and was still behind the boat in this shot). The bear was totally cool and payed no attention to the photographers, not even turning her head as she sauntered by. See also accompanying photo.

October 15th is the International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, a global expression of sympathy, remembrance and support for those too many families who are affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy or beyond.

Across the world, at 7pm local time, candles will be lit for those babies who have died. At this time we will remember them all; either our own children or babies of others who have nonetheless touched our lives in such a brief time.

In the UK, Babyloss is a collaborative awareness effort involving charities and voluntary organisations which support those affected, and lobby for research and action to understand more about and, where possible, prevent pregnancy loss.

You don't have to have been affected by loss yourself to help; though sadly the numbers of families affected makes it unlikely that there in no-one in your circle that has not suffered in this way.

You can help in so many ways:

* If you know someone grieving for their child - drop them a line today. Give them a hug. Show them you remember their loss and that you are there to share their memories and sadness. Too many families feel locked in silence, afraid to start a conversation, afraid to upset others, and alone in their grief.

* Click on the site www.babyloss.com, and find out more about the organisations who support those in need. Could you volunteer? Could you raise money or awareness for these causes?

* Even quietly finding out more and being able to pay that understanding and support forward if you encounter a person in need in the future is invaluable. Sometimes the biggest change is in thought, not just in deed.

With this shot I am marking the day, and I welcome you to share in marking it.

If you stop spreading lies about me, then I also stop spreading the truth about you!

Today is International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day.

"The aim of the Day is to help children with cancer get the best possible treatment and care, no matter where they live in the world, by raising both awareness and money."

A few years ago they did this with a very successful photo project, "Through my Eyes", where children with cancer around the world took photographs of their life.

There is a popular saying: “With the truth, a person can go all over the world.” The Baal Shem Tov explained, “That’s because he will get thrown out of one place after another” (Toldos Yaakov Yosef, Bo, 46b, cited in Sefer Baal Shem Tov, Vayeira 10).

Another recent Plains Bison shot... this time I hiked and circled around under cover of a gully and the slope of a hill (yesterday's photo was from my vehicle). When I had them in sight, I crawled through the snowy and grass to close the distance. This is approximately the moment I entered their awareness zone. Their tails were all curved straight down at this point, which indicates no stress. With bison, always watch the tail. The higher it gets, the more agitated they are. A tail sticking straight up means trouble.

We live in an era when it is more important than ever to be aware of our surroundings when in public.

For birds like this hawk, they live or die because of either following or ignoring that principle...even in early mornings.

Environmental Awareness Park 'Antonis Tritsis' is located on the area named "Queen's Tower'', in the western part of Athens. It is the largest organized green park in the urban fabric of Athens, the total area of approximately 1,200 acres.

There are six artificial lakes and an artificial canal (ensuring the flow of water between the lakes and its recycling), as well as rich flora and fauna, which make this a truly rare treasure of natural beauty. Many activities are available to visitors including horse riding, cycling, a gym, an environmental education centre and a reptile exhibition as well as open air theatres and walking with your dog!
