ZG775/AF Panavia Tornado GR.4, IX(B) Squadron, RAF Marham, Royal Air Force.
'Tornado 03' the IX(B) Special jet, painted up for the Tornado Farewell events that took place in February 2019.
This was part of a fourship that departed, three of which went on the Scottish tour of the FINale flypasts.
This was the only time I got to see and photograph this, the final Bat special scheme, shame the light wasn't a little better.

This is possibly the most difficult replica I've made so far. The 23 has so many gradual curves with virtually no real lines between each facet of the design. That said, I am very happy with how this project turned out. I managed to include all major control surfaces, including slats on the leading edge. The assembly to get that the accurate non 45 degree angle is very unconventional but was the only way to include the adjustable control surfaces. Totally worth it though. I was also sure to include the iconic hourglass stealthily painted on by one of the members of the design team, and include a window on the stand so it can be properly displayed. And yes, the stand was the last thing I designed after ordering all of the pieces for the plane itself. So its still a monochromatic rainbow on my personal model. But all the pieces exist in black for a much cleaner look.

ABM Aviation currently operate the main car park shuttle at Gatwick. BN17 JOH is one of seven 2017 Mercedes Benz Citaro bendybuses inherited from OFJ Connections and was seen at the Airport this morning, 19th October, 2022.
