One of these beers is this week’s FFF. Can you guess which?
Hint: It’s not the previously featured one.
I love Bottleworks, don’t think I’ve ever walked out w/o at least one new discovery.

This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

Overall, it was a unique beer that had a nice, complex bitterness. I’ve been considering home brewing a black IPA or a heavily hopped Imperial stout, and I think this has... (More on Avery – Avery Anniversary Lager, Seventeen Dry-Hopped Black Lager)

The body was very light, and it was very crisp and refreshing to drink. The carbonation within the beer was very heavy, which made it a little crisper. The flavors were light, and I tasted a lemon grass type flavor with some subtle flavors which reminded me of some light bready lagers. It also had some very light sweet malt flavors, almost like a subtle... (More on Avery Brewing – Karma Ale)
Here’s the other Jubilation Ale I enjoy this time of year. Avery Brewing’s Holiday seasonal is based on the English Strong Ale. If I were to complain about the Old Jubilation, it lacks a hop presence. The Bullion hops they use are there, just not as discernable as I’d like.
It is the malt profile which makes this a good ale. Two of the specialty hops they use are my favorites: Special Roast and Victory. Almost all my recipes with a darker, amber color have the special roast in them. The combination of these, along with the Black roast & chocolate malts, give this ale a multilayered taste, yet easy (too easy) to drink.
If you’re in for a relaxing evening in front of your fireplace, I recommend getting yourself a six-pack of the Old Jubilation to help unwind from the day.

It was a decent caramelly, malty ale. If I had to pair it with a food, I’d recommend BBQ, especially something like babyback ribs. Although it’s a decent beer, I’m not sure if I’d reach for it again in the bottle. I would, however, maybe try it on draft – to get it a little more fresh – assuming I could... To celebrate Avery Brewing Company's Nineteeth Anniversary they brewed a Belgian Style Trippel. There are all the classic trippel components in this beer including a slight "funk" and biscuit aroma/taste. The finish is dry with floral and grassy overtones. ABV is 8.23% Congratulations Avery on a great 19 years and I'm looking forward to many more years of quality Colorado Craft Beer!

I liked it but it is not as drinkable as I anticipated. Opens up with malts and offers some rather complex flowery, citrusy, and herbal aroma with hints of pepper and clove. Some tree fruits but no Belgian funk. Extracting aroma and stretching my palate I get bubble gum at temperatures above 50 F. Forgot how much I paid but I wouldn't have seconds above $10/ bottle.
