I was lucky to spot this Kestrel drying out after a heavy shower. With the leave already falling it makes spotting the wildlife much easier. I used my Nikon D4s with a Sigma 150-600mm lens

I definitely learned something about working with "difficult" models through this experience. While I'm pretty happy with how these photos came out, they weren't created without their share of hardships, including: a living room covered in straw, several broken pumpkin stems, an a lot of me rolling around on the floor like an idiot.
Also at one point Gravy got jealous that it was Frank's turn in front of the camera, and bit him.
Colours of Autumn - my favourite time of the year has come around again and some of the colours of autumn are starting to appear.
The fog changed its density almost by the minute on this late afternoon, causing the scene to appear in a new light time and again. I wanted to capture a moment in which the sun, just barely hidden behind the tree, lets its rays break through the fog, creating a mystical atmosphere. The deliberate choice of portrait format emphasizes, for me, the drama of the trees and makes the image ideal for viewing on your smartphone. This moment in the forest – the interplay of light, shadow, and rising mist – felt like a brief journey into another world.
Der Nebel wechselte an diesem Spätnachmittag fast minütlich seine Dichte, wodurch die Szene immer wieder in neuem Licht erstrahlte. Ich wollte einen Moment festhalten, in dem die Sonne, knapp verdeckt vom Baum, ihre Strahlen durch den Nebel hindurchbrechen und eine mystische Atmosphäre schaffen sollen. Der gezielte Einsatz des Hochformats unterstreicht für mich die Dramatik der Bäume und macht das Bild gleichzeitig ideal zur Betrachtung auf eurem Smartphon. Dieser Augenblick im Wald – das Spiel von Licht, Schatten und aufsteigendem Nebel – fühlte sich an wie eine kurze Reise in eine andere Welt.

The low fog blankets the surface, creating a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere that softens the outlines of the distant shore. A sailboat, with its mast silhouetted against the sky, floats peacefully in the haze on the right. To the left, a low stone sea wall or breakwater juts out into the water, its dark structure providing a contrast to the soft, glowing light. Above, the sun breaks through a layer of dramatic, high clouds, casting a warm golden glow that permeates the mist and reflects gently on the calm water. For well over 22 years I’ve been so very passionate about photography. I’m a portrait photographer, wedding photographer, but I also love to create art prints of landscapes using both my Canon digital and my medium format film cameras. After all this time, I still wake up without an alarm at 4am snd am full of anticipation and excitement to get up, load up cameras and tripods, and head out before sunrise to explore the beauty of these Missouri Ozarks that I call home. I guess this will never leave, this excitement and anticipation for the wink of Mother Nature’s eye.
An intimate study of a Japanese Maple leaf, steeped in the deep, luxurious colours of mid-October. I focused on using selective focus to isolate this single specimen, letting the surrounding foliage dissolve into a warm, painterly bokeh of crimson and rust. The incredible depth of colour and the sharp detail of the serrated edges capture the poignant beauty of autumn's final, dramatic burst before winter sets in.
