After the hotest March on record and then a whole night of rain in April, Autumn has finally hit the Adelaide Hils. Just the best time of year around here..

Another autumn shot from my recent trip to Mount Lofty Botanics in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia.
I went towards the back on the park and up a steep hill to be rewarded by a small clump of trees with a beautiful variety of colours.
On the downside, there were two kangaroos sunning themselves on the grass in the background when I arrived - but they got camera shy and wandered off before I got my shot composed.

This shot from 2016 is dedicated to my friend whose husband passed away a few weeks ago. It was so sad that, because of the Corona virus, I could not even give her a hug at his funeral. His final resting place turned out to be just a few meters away from this scene. May he rest in peace.
To all my dear friends and family, I hope you all will have a blessed Christmas. For those going on holiday, take care and stay safe! Thank you so much for your neverending support and encouragement.
A look at the civil war era Hyde's Millhouse from afar. The owner has set old, used millstones in the ground along the fence line. The finial shows wear, but not like the stones.
Happy Fence Friday!

Autumn has hit the Adelaide hills in full splendor this week. The hot month of March and now a cold and wet April have made for a spectacular array of autumnal colours in the Mount Lofty Botanical gardens in South Australia
Taken in the gardens of Sherborne castle in west Dorset. This one I liked as it pictures the rustic colours of Autumn against a Blue sky.

So healing, to walk by the water, whether quiet or not. Taken just a couple of days ago while out dog walking, this scene was captivating. Autumn just encroaching on summer ... so peaceful. Himalayan Balsam lines the banks of Plantsbrook, very close to home. I am blessed to live near such a lovely place. The morning had been stressful, as my husband had suddenly become ill (thankfully recovering now) and I'm not well, but I felt MUCH better here ! And with our dog as a faithful companion too? Heaven !
I hope you can imagine being in heaven too ... for you, it may be a different sort of heaven. For me, that day, it was here.
Thank you as always, for your comments and faves. Forgive my slowness recently, I do value you all, my Flickr friends. This is for you, especially those of you who have supported me personally. I can't express my gratitude enough.
I would like to have 'tagged' you all, but some of you are not able to be 'tagged'. Thanks to all anyway !
Thank you especially to Tony, Guy@Fawkes, my co-admin of all our groups, who helped me so much and is still helping, even though he's not feeling too good himself. Thank you so much, partner.
