Behold Der Steinadler: Prussia's flagship! Efficiently defended against ether-pirates by its war automatons, it can fly from Earth to Mars in just 3 months.
This is my first SHIP.
Sentient Combat Automaton specializing in long range sniping and marksmanship. Aquila Omen rarely enters the battlefield, instead striking from a safe distance using its Sniper Arm. It's rifle uses special Phase-Tech bullets that can phase through all obstacles between Omen and its target. The scope on Omen's arm can switch between IR and X-ray modes, making it nearly impossible to hid from Omen's piercing shots. Omen is not suited for close combat, instead relying on support from other Vanguard automatons such is Bolide to protect it. Omen is particular calm in its demeanor. It is often seen staring at trees, birds, and flowers with an almost human-like sense of wonder.
Build notes;
Another quick build. This one only took a few hours to put together. I tried scaling down my standard Vanguard frame for Omen's torso and legs, and I am really happy with the result. I feel this one has a bit more personality than some of the others. Since Omen is so small, it poses really well. Also, the clip on the sniper rifle can be removed. And... teal parts! yay! I finally got a chance to use this rare color! What fun. Now, time to get back to those bonkle builds I've been putting off.
Hi everyone! Sorry I'm posting this late, I didn't have time yesterday to get it up to Flickr. I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Sir Phileas Brassbottom prepares to present his automaton to the visitors as his assistant - Greasegob - welcomes them.
Feels like I haven't built something steamy in ages... as much as I love stampunk, this is definitely not my comfort zone. This one was a true exercise in patience, haven't built something so fiddly since the davinci tank I believe.
(Flashback.)
Geomancer reflecting: I'm not even a living thing. I don't eat, don't drink nor even breathe. I'm merely an automaton Kagrenac created.
Amazing builder, Walton F. Wainwright, created an amazing stage with what looks to be like a chapel, a library, and a steaming birthday cake all rolled into one huge monument. Don't miss this one in the back and well worth the trek after listening to one of the talks. A wonderful addition next to the Makati Slade cake

Sentient Automaton specializing in holographic illusions and melee combat. Phantasm darts in and out of sight, swiftly striking with its burning plasma chains before disappearing behind like a ghost. Phantasm is equipped with two hologram projectors that allow it to create illusory copies of itself or mask the environment in false images. If Phantasm loses control of the environment, it can recall its projectors and retract its chains to make a speedy getaway.
Build Notes: Here's another one! I incorporated Salvo's original weapons (the chains) into a frame with a better suited color palette. The main gimmick for this one was going to be something very different, but I wasn't liking the direction the build was heading. So now we have little projector plates that attach to its back! The frame of this one is probably the least unique of all the Automatons so far (it's basically Salvo with Maestro's legs), but it is very flexible and sturdy. The name for this one (Echis) is a genus of Viper. Still have some ideas for more automatons, so I'll probably keep making them until I run out of colors, parts, or ideas. Still need to make a name for the series... Vanguard perhaps?
Based upon the scenes from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I tried to replicate the twilight/ring effect here, and am pretty pleased with the result.
Hope you all had a great Christmas! I was fortunate enough to receive the Lonely Mountain set, and I'm really enjoying the included Smaug!
Also, I'm sorry for the shortage of uploads lately. School's been keeping me busy, but I should be able to crank out a few more photos by the end of winter break.
Hope you enjoyed!
A whimsical steampunk robot with a rounded teal and brass body, decorated with intricate golden gears, rivets, and vintage clockwork details. Its head sprouts lush green leaves like a living plant, blending nature with machinery. The robot’s expressive round eyes and subtle smile give it a friendly, curious demeanor. One hand delicately holds a glass terrarium containing tiny ferns, symbolizing its role as a guardian of life. The color palette features soft turquoise, worn brass, and pastel pink highlights, giving it a weathered yet charming antique look. The background is softly muted to enhance focus on the character, evoking a surreal fusion of nature, technology, and gentle fantasy.
Never built a Vic Viper before - always been intimidated by the quality of the stuff put out by other builders during NoVVember. Decided I had to give it a go, and this was the result.
Getting their drop-off right was sure to be a hefty task. Drunk yet again, the pilots swung their landing craft onto the isle of G.
G was an island found to be infested by kobolds, dragonflies and all sorts of weird amphibic creatures. Luckily, preliminary scan readings showed rich underground deposits of crude oil scattered throughout.
Knowing their salt mining process and their liquids, Tequilatron engineers were quick to reassemble parts of their vessel to create a hovering drilling station. What better way to cause an extinction event than a major oil spillage?
Wreak havoc!

I managed to pick up the little Dol Guldur set and the new Lake-town tower/bridge at my local Target the other day, and have been relatively pleased with them. I love this Witch-King minifig, he's detailed and very photogenic.
Hope you enjoy!

The Rook (front) is a heavily armored machine that carries two enormous shields. Hundreds of Rooks form an impenetrable moving wall. The Bishop (rear), is a cannon-like machine that fires volatile chemical balloons. They hide behind the Rooks because they have fragile legs and the chemical tanks are unarmored.

Based on this scene from the first trailer of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I thought that Gandalf's line "It is undoubtedly a trap." sounded quite a bit like Admiral Ackbar's infamous line "It's a trap!", so I decided to create a funny mashup image. Once I get Radagast, I'll post a movie-accurate version of this scene with the real Gandalf. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed!
Credit goes to my brother KnightOwl Photography for letting me borrow his Ackbar head.
A cobbler's shop near Shrewsbury railway station.
I suspect these automatons are worth a small fortune and must be much loved but they are very creepy, perhaps especially so at 7.15 pm; the shop was closed and dark and they were turned off - just frozen and still - or were they? Did one slowly turn his head to look at me as I walked away...?
Keys in the background for a key cutting service and a very odd and equally creepy mixture of things jumbled together in the front of the window. Not a great capture technically, but I like all the visual mix of shop and reflections.
Based upon this scene from The Fellowship of the Ring. The light shining upon Balin's Tomb was achieved in-camera, using a long exposure and waving around a tissue there. Complete credit for that awesome technique goes to Annoying Noises.
Can you spot Gollum and the Ring?
Hope you enjoyed!
I built this odd little automaton while on vacation over the summer. I wanted to get some artistic shots of it at the beach, but it was too dark.
Also, picture left uncropped due to artistic preference.
Happy Easter everyone!
Not too pleased with the way this photo turned out, but I wanted to get something up for Easter. This was somewhat based off of this photo. I apologize for the lack of uploads lately, I've been pretty busy. I'll try to upload as much as possible!

This is another commissioned photo for Forrestfire101. This particular photo was featured in the third of his awesome new LEGO Hobbit first-person video game videos, which can be viewed here. More photos will be posted as their related videos come out.
Credit for Bilbo's torso decal goes to the incredible lego3x11l. Many thanks to Ewokologist for lending me the dragon used in the image!
For this photo, I tried to get a subtle ring "twilight" effect with soft focus and desaturation. I could have done more blur, but while that would have been more film-accurate, it obscured the image.
Hope you enjoyed!

I've had the idea of using Arwen's hair (made red using Photoshop) as Tauriel's for a while, I'm really happy with the way that it turned out here and hope that LEGO makes the piece in this color sometime.

Sentient Combat Automaton specializing in close quarters brawling. Diceros Bolide is the most aggressive and savage member of the Vanguard. It uses the seismic resonators on arms and legs to cause small earthquakes, staggering targets. It's morning star fists can read and return the resonant frequency of anything they contact, enabling Bolide to rend even the toughest armor. Bolide is also equipped with a small jump jet on its back to compensate for its less agile frame. To calm it's aggressive nature, Bolide is often paired with calmer automatons such as Omen.
Build notes: Got another one of these guys. Believe it or not, this guy is nothing like the original concept that I was planning on using. He was originally going to be a ninja, then a sniper (a concept that became Omen). I came up with the idea of the resonator fists, and here we are. The resonator fist concept is something I've been wanting to do since 2016, back when I was making MRL mechs.
The actual build of this guy is just a taller variation of the frame I used on Salvo and Phantasm, though obviously the lower sections of the limbs are pretty different.
Like the other members of Vanguard, Diceros Bolide is named after an animal genus (a rhino).
