For a time in early August of 2024, the last original painted unit on New England Central was stationed in White River Junction, working on the locals in the area. I decided to take a trip up with a couple friends to see the blue and gold in action. After getting dinner down the road from the Amtrak station, we arrived to find the 601 crew boarding. To our surprise, they would leave the other pumpkin in the yard and work with just one unit. This was a very welcome sight, as it makes the train as authentic as possible. Knowing the track speed along the Conn River was a quick pace, we made our way across the river into New Hampshire, and set up at the well-known Balloch Crossing. As the horn approached in the distance, the sun dipped behind the mountains, and the sky turned purple as it began to set. 601 soon rushed by, the first scene I witnessed with NECR blue and gold on the main. We made chase south the rest of the way to Bellows Falls, exploring a new section of the Conn River for me as well. If I wasn't already hooked on the original NECR scheme, this day certainly did just that.

That innocent looking Nash Ambassador has front and rear seats that fold down to form a bed! The model came with an authentic looking owner's manual that revealed the secret bed in the cabin.
The Nash may look harmless but don't be fooled. Send that young man packing!

The notion of authenticity, here, is ambiguous. Both ironic and actual a cloud is, indeed a nebula however it isn't a nebula in astronomical terms. The ambiguity extends into the process of photomanipulation, where a cloud (actual) is edited to resemble an astronomical nebula (ironic or representational).
Furthermore, from a Postmodern perspective, authenticity becomes a representation of authenticity which creates an immediate ambiguity. If something that is real, genuine, is not real and genuine then how are we to understand what is real and what is false?

Perhaps not everyone’s choice of livery, and certainly not mine, but a classic K4 K1 combo on the Road to the Isles certainly has the edge on a Black 5.
Despite a couple of serious attempts to get these two double headed in BR Black on the much missed Scottish Bash, it never happened, and now never will.
No glossy restorations and manicured vintage 'collector' cars; no modern day re-issues... Just the Real Thing, 60+ years on and still rolling...
One of the things I hate about being trans is just how plastic we are Barbie has nothing on us lot.
What I mean is basically without major surgery everything about us almost always fake. Some have their own hair but most of us wear a wig. some have a little bit more up top but once again more often than not its the silicone that gives us that uplifting feeling of a bosom. and lets face it we just don't have the hips for this girl lark.
So no wonder I feel at times something like a major fake!!!!
I like to be as authentic as possible and dispose of the fake assets I use when it is at all possible. Now I am blessed or cursed (pending on what me you are talking to) with a nice handful and bit in the bosom area and I sort of have something in the way of hips.
The above photo was an experiment to see if I could get away with not using any shapewear,
So in this I am not wearing a bra at all. no corset and nothing to give me hips. the bit that is fake is my hair. So in reality this is as authentic as I can get. Just wish I could ditch the wig.
I know of two restaurants named Garibaldi's. One we frequented every Friday night when we lived in Florida, and this one, that's attached to a gas station. It's not part of the gas station, just attached. The decor is odd, there's always a kindergartner running around the kitchen, and parking is a bitch. But their Mexican food is authentic, and awesome.

It might not look pretty, but it's a SOO GP30 in original paint. Thing is, the paint looks really rough an worn, but it's original! One of the long hood doors got move around at one time, so the "SOO" is not fully intact, but it is all there. Did I mention original?
