Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life, such a beautiful sight, like seeing a novel come alive.

Well, it's who we are, it's what we do
The way the good Lord meant it
It's in the blood, tires in the mud
It's just the life that we're livin'
It's tried and true, can't buy it new
If you think you can, you don't get it
If it burns your lips when you take a sip
You gonna know that it's authentic

AUTHENTIC. Modern man has become a consumer product in himself: docile, passive, and automaton, completely surrendered to external consumerist stimuli. Able to function according to the dictates of totalitarian regimes and monotheistic religions. (Erich Fromm)

70 posti per gustare Hokkaido sotto le luci di Sapporo - 札幌の灯の下で味わう北海道の70席 - 70 Seats to Taste Hokkaido Under the Lights of Sapporo

In the heart of Sapporo, Hokkaido, a restaurant with 70 seats welcomes its guests under a glowing sign. Here, tradition blends with the authentic flavors of beef and offal, in a warm and convivial atmosphere. This is everyday Japan, where lanterns illuminate the stories of a shared meal.
The horizon of mystery is also the foundation of authentic humility. Having grasped both the truth and the limits of my grasp, how could I possibly claim I know all there is? How could I possibly claim that my mind has reined in and tamed the very existence that created both my mind and that which my mind seeks to apprehend? What a pathetic idol reason severed from its transcendent horizon reveals itself to be! How cramped! How distorted!

Authentic religion? How do you find it? Nagai relates how he and his little community found religious hope in the nuclear wilderness. On the last page of his book, music from the cathedral bell floods the valley of ashes, and he kneels with his children to say the Angelus. Despite their poverty and loss, they know that God is love, that suffering and the effort to keep on loving are worthwhile. “The people without a vision perish.” Nagai has come to see it is prayer that gives the vision.

"L'une des choses qui m'attire dans les objets vintage et antiques, c'est qu'ils ont des histoires et, même si je ne connais pas ces histoires, je les invente."

Do you ever find those places where it seems like you took a step back in time? A place uninterrupted by modern developments of civilization. That is what this place felt like to me, and I loved it! It is so sweet to find hidden gems like this where you can leave the world as we know it for a moment and can take time to soak it all in. These are the places that I feel like I grow closest to the Lord. I am so thankful that there are still places like this left and that He grants us time to go to them and rest in His presence and bask in His goodness!
A peaceful massif, the Bauges and its Regional Natural Park breathe authenticity. Here the landscape is soft and welcoming with its villages nestled between forests and meadows.

Authentic because its reference an old Dutch painting which I assume was plein air...or at least the artist knew what a "peasant farm" looked like. (Anthonie Jacobus van Wijngaerdt)
Anyway, I used Qwen's imaging editing model to completely change the lighting. Now it's golden hour on the farm. Here is the image before I changed the lighting: imgur.com/wiK96GG
I confess to being a romantic. But don't you think the pattern on the wall of the cottage is beautiful? Totally wabi sabi. An abstract painting in the middle of a realist portrait of life four centuries ago. Mathematical beauty incarnate.
A new interpretation of my 2014 photograph “Declaration of Love II”, with new knowledge of post‑processing and twelve more years of experience.
A quiet moment where two hands meet, each shaped by different journeys through life. The softness of youth rests gently against the wisdom of age, creating a connection that needs no words. In this simple touch, years dissolve, and love becomes the bridge between generations.
Fun fact: Human touch can reduce stress hormones and increase oxytocin — often called the “bonding hormone” — strengthening emotional connection across generations.
Confederate General Sterling Price established his headquarters at the Edwards Cabin, above Wilson's Creek. This is a different Edwards Cabin, which the park moved to the site of the original Edwards Cabin. William Edwards built both the original and this one, which originally stood about three miles away.
The ramp in back is, of course, not authentic. I assume it dates to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
