Hopetoun Falls - a wonderful place to relax and reflect, the Otways , such a beautiful part of the world.
Long exposure of the sea stacks at Gibsons Steps on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. Taken on my Nikon D750, ISO 100, 16-35mm lens, f/13 @ 30 secs.
Sometimes persistence pays off.
Waiting for a sunset at Dog Rocks, Batesford, near Geelong, when I was rewarded with a wonderful display by Mother Nature.
I had the opportunity to get away for a couple of days and explore areas that I had never taken images of before. This location is now easily one of my favourites. There wasn't much detail in the sky but it didnāt matter because nothing could have taken my focus off the textures of these amazing rock formations.
The Split Point lighthouse at Aireys Inlet is always a wonderful subject to photograph from different perspectives. This image was taken just before a storm hit the area, luckily made it back to the car just before it pelted down.
Never a dull moment at Cradle Mountain, we spent 3 days there.
Day 1 = Sun
Day 2 = Rain
Day 3 = Snow
This is an area that I would like to return to and spend more time exploring and doing the different hikes.

Decided that I needed to get going with some new images as I been pretty lazy of late. This is an image of some of Melbournes most iconic buildings, Australia 108, Eureka Tower, Crown Casino on a cloudless sunset. The Boatbuilders Yard was great for a top up refreshment as well.
This particular spot in North Narrabeen has been shot so many times but still gives out so many perspective every sunrise! I'll call this one "Snakehead"

When its sunny in Melbourne you get your camera and head to somewhere you enjoy taking photos, the Exhibition Building is one of those places that gives you some many perspectives. . . . .

Bakers Oven - Sometimes we get so entrenched in the main subject that we forget to take a look around and see different things that can capture our interest. Trying to get a sunset shot, however, the weather wasnāt cooperating. Luckily the moon was peeking from around the clouds and I was presented with this image.
Along a very rural road between Hill End and Bathurst, comes the small settlement of Limekilns. Not much there really, but the landscapes were absolutely beautiful... Some typical outback Aussie images presented themselves for us!

"Belmore Falls" - from Hindmarsh Lookout, a good 30-45min walk takes you to this AMAZING place! You need to see this if you're in the area!

Gorgeous golden hour light setting over some very famous and iconic Sydney landmarks - Sydney Luna Park, Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Really enjoyed this calm sunset as we waited for the lights to turn on for the last weekend of Vivid light festival 2019. There was no wind and the weekend was just setting in along with a sense of excitement in the air as Vivid was about to start painting colored light all over this scene. The sun was setting behind my shoulder so this all the reflected golden light on the landmarks. The sky in this direction was a nice warm orange with splashes of red/purple. I really love this spot beacause you can photograph so many different things including the entire Sydney city CBD skyline using a wide angle lens.

Port Arlington - Down at the Bellarine on a Sunday morning and decided to go out first thing for a shoot, I came across this canola field on the road to Port Arlington and was lucky enough to get a wonderful sunrise as a bonus.
Boys (and girls!) come out to play. The surfing beach at Manly, New South Wales ā my favourite place in all Australia.
This is my penultimate image in this short retrospective series of Aussie images. Good memories and some magic moments!

I don't remember how I met Marg but I know she kindly gave me some guidance regarding groups when I was a Flickr newbie and she has been a visitor to my photostream since the beginning. Thanks Marg, I appreciate it!
Marg is an Australian (like me!) but has a great photostream with photos from all around the world.
I really love her Aussie images and love the way she captures light in the Australian bush. It's something I always try to capture myself, but it's often difficult to achieve the right balance between light and shade.

Had a chilled afternoon shoot at Balls Head Reserve. It's a nice quiet location to shoot the Sydney skyline and even better it's about 3minutes from my house! I need to get down here more often as we are blessed with stunning views of the Harbour and Sydney skyline. It's interesting watching all those new buildings and casino go up at Barangaroo. Sydney's silhouette is full of cranes as they construct the city of the future. .

And of course wonder what the new chicky babe Miss Lucy with Diamonds really looks like?
Oh well, only 2 sleeps to go and we will find out.
Hope she is fun to live with and we can play, be full of miscief and be naughty together.
So for now, I am dreaming of chasing daisies.
After all, what is a dog to do with all that new rain and mud? Looks like the wet monsoon has started. Oh but I do love to be jumping puddles though - woof.

Nothing like perching on a jagged rocky outcrop with your tripod and taking long exposure seascape photo's! There's a thrill of having the waves crashing around you, getting wet and making sure your gear doesn't wash out to sea! š¦āļøšI camped nearby and made my way out here in the dark with a torch and waited for the magic to rise... I was rewarded with this gorgeous sunrise at Horsehead Rock on the Sapphire Coast, Australia.

Hereās a residential aerial during a peaceful sunrise of one of Sydney Harbourās most sought after waterfront suburbs, Birchgrove. Along with its neighbor Balmain they have quickly transformed from their coal mining and boat building past into streets full of designer prams and young and upcoming families. The limited amount of space, quiet and tranquil water surroundings and proximity to the city does come with a hefty price tag though with properties often exchanging in the $3-4M range š. But who wouldnāt want to sit up on their third floor balcony sipping a cool long island iced tea overlooking your own yacht and private jetty? From my time spent in Balmain and Birchggameofdronezrove the area, architecturally speaking, is extremely #Sydney in that there is a lot of sandstone! And I love this as itās such a beautiful material to build a community with.

Fact is, I am never without sunglasses, when outdoors. Summer and Winter and even overcast and cloudy days, the glare here (ultra Violet rays) is ever present and overpowering and without eye protection, one's eyesight will deteriorate more so than simply the age process. Everyone here wears them and they are not just fashion statements.
Australia has the highest rate of Melanoma (skin cancer) in the world and the State of Queensland has the highest rate within the country and it can take half-a-lifetime from getting skin cancer to when it actually appears on the skin. Funny how way back, all us guys (yep guys) that worked outdoors would usually be wearing just boots and a pair of shorts and that includes tradies in the house roofing profession. All day long exposed to the sun. Thankfully by the 1980ās we began to understand the problems and ā Slip Slop Slapā (a television cartoon programme and radio song) was introduced. Slip on a shirt, slop on some sun cream and slap on a hat. To date, I have not yet developed skin cancer so I am just lucky 'caused I was raised during the Bronzed Aussie Image years and lived up to it. Compared to an Englishman of my age, I would appear to have skin that is akin to a well used, beaten and weathered tanned hide.
Mind you, I donāt wear these sunnies to work. I would if I could but somehow they do not fit the truckie guy image.
Sorry girlfriends, for this has nothing to do with femininity or frocking up. More toward my thoughts and my ramblings. One day I will post a photo more in line with everyone else and be normal.

I tried to capture an iconic Aussie image today, hopefully this suffices.
Beautiful day in Sydney. The boat bottom right of frame was a finalist in the "Best Dressed Vessel" competition. The large flag it is flying is the Australian Red Ensign.
