Flit spins like no one is watching, lost in her own little world of escapism to get her through captivity. She is thankful for the vices in her cell.

Macro Mondays 4/9/17, theme "Connection"
One of the biggest loves in my life is music. It's nearly always there, has been around for ever and has never let me down. However I'm not a real audiophile, apart from this cable - one of two. They were ridiculously expensive and I only got them coz they were offered to me at around 60% discount when I last updated my stereogram player!!
Anyway it's a phono cable that connects my CD player to my amp. The image appears to have it connecting with itself (which seems a little strange now!) Maybe just pretend there are two of them there! And this monologue, sharing a little of myself, is me connecting with you!
HMM!
Hey, Mr. DJ, put a record on, I wanna dance with my baby.
Celebrating almost a year of ((Krature)) collectables- in almost every event (unless I'm been really strapped for time) I've released a 149L collectable themed record album. These albums are exclusive and never brought to my mainstore so if you see them, you gotta grab em!
Currently you can get "Dreaming in my Garden" (the album closest to my arm) and "Decide Your Fate" (the album on the floor) at Abnormality and Enchantment. Look out for future releases as ((Krature)) is in more events in late 2025.

Contribution to Macro Mondays Challenge for 10 Dec 2018, theme: Vowel
It's been more than a month since I've even picked my camera up let alone used it so where better to back into it than MM. However this is the sort of challenge that I don't like ie where the scope is sooo big!!

MM contribution for 4/11/19, theme: Brand and Logos
The base of my musical box. Made of perspex and illuminated and loud (enough). Bought as an interim measure while I moved out and waiting for her majesty to join me it's been over a year now! For some reason I had to leave my CDs and stereo behind....
Next step is to use this as the basis and excuse to extend the Naim system...
In April we met some friends for dinner in Nagoya, Japan. We did not meet for many years, so we had many lively discussions. JungChang is a retired audiophile living in Nagoya, originally from China.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

1968
It was the first Marantz receiver in 1968. A solid state construction fitted with a small oscilloscope tube for FM tuning and monitoring of audio signals. 1% Resistors Used - The best resistors available, they give supremely low noise. They are used throughout the receiver in all vital circuits. Massive Heat Sinks - These dissipate heat from the power transistor circuits, and that means longer years of use. My Eighteen makes a perfect sound after 55 years. More is not possible.

Alright so its been awhile since I last posted something. I mean I've been shooting here and there but nothing really worth mentioning, couple jobs here and there and thats been about it. Same shit different day! On the plus side I got myself a new laptop recently, so away with the old 2011 13" MacBook Air I've been using for the past 4 years and in with my brand new top spec 2015 13" MacBook Pro! So that was exciting, plus not to mentioned a week or so before that I got myself another little gift. These Sony wireless headphones, now I'm not much of an audiophile or anything but I've always wanted a decent pair or headphones and bonus points for the fact they are wireless, so they're more then enough for me. And with that I figured it has been awhile since I last did a product shot so why not.
So for this shot I had originally wanted to throw a couple other items in the background but as it turns out I don't have as many props as I'd like so I just made due with my phone and my a7. Now I actually borrowed an a7ii for this shot and man do I want to upgrade and get that but honestly I really don't need to. Lighting wasn't to crazy, one main light coming in from the back and a bunch of reflectors (in the BTS shot I removed some of the white sheets of paper I had around the set and forgot to put them back in for the BTS shot). I also did a bit of composite work for lighting, for the phone screen, and in order to actually get the Sony and NFC logo in focus. Because as it turns out shooting at F1.4 ( I wanted to shoot F0.95 but that was a little to shallow) with my Mistaken 50mm F0.95 still isn't very sharp, especially around the sides and edges of the frame. I only stopped down to F2.8 though, which was good enough for me. Either way it was a fun little shoot and I should really get back into doing for still life/product photography.
Strobist Info
Nikon SB-800 directly behind the frame shooting through a Phottix 2x3' softbox which was then diffused even more so by my 1x2m diffusion panel.
2x3' white foam core was placed camera left, right next to the camera as fill light
8.5x11 white office paper was placed right in front of the headphones as fill
2x3' black foam core was used camera right to kill off unwanted colour cast and light from the environment
more white paper was place at the bottom of the black foam core as more fill

The Model 4140 offers a 4 channel amplifier for quadraphonic systems listening. With a plug-in additional module on the underside, all 4 channel systems available at the time can be reproduced.
It can be switched to 2-channel stereo, the output is 2x 70 watts or 4x 35 watts. A very good phono input, good options for tone control are on board.
A heavyweight amplifier that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of possible applications, the characteristic of seventies leading Marantz HiFi technology.

A Marantz integrated amp built in the mid-seventies: Model series 1030, 1040, 1060, 1070 and 1150. The output of 50 watt per channel was always exceeded in test reports, heavy metal weight on my board.
Vintage Marantz amps are sure to be recognized by its superb sound quality. This 1070 is the late version with acrylic glass black face. Like the symmetrical arrangement of the controls on the front. It's a feature of all of the '70s Marantz hifi treasures.

The dream preamplifier of every hi-fi friend (and me) from the 70s and for many certainly still today.
"Aiming for the highest level of control amplifier, this control amplifier is equipped with excellent basic performance and extensive adjustment functions" is the comment of the "Audio Database" on the CA-3000 from the Sansui "Definition" series.
The structure and the technical design of the heavy preamp (14kg) is uncompromising and built for eternity.

One of the most interesting high-end tuners from the late seventies "of course" comes from Sansui. A good looking front design with black controls. The sound is excellent, as are the reception characteristics, according to some test magazines at the time. The volume control allows the signal strength to be adjusted to the amp. You can still get the TU-717 cheaply, grab it.

The Technics is the largest amp model in the line from 1977. The integrated amplifier has a high-quality construction and has excellent measured values. The sound is powerful and low-noise at 50 watts per channel. There are enough controls for tone and filters. Here is SU-7700K with the dark front matching to my tuner ST-7300K.

It's not the biggest model, but a true middle-class Sansui. I restored it. Now looks and sounds great again. The model 690 is the blackface EU version of the Sansui 6060. You rarely see this version.
The tuner reception is perfect and a power of 40W pc is enough. Seventies Sansui is just real hifi fun always.

I recently bolted this bad boy to my tonearm and all I can say is.... wow!! I knew this was going to be good but I wasn't prepared for just how good.
The Helikon has a playful, effortless sound which shimmers from the speakers out into the room. I honestly cannot find fault with what I am hearing - easily the best analogue sound I've had in my room.
For public record, the components which have allowed me to reach analogue nirvana are:
Nottingham Analogue Ace Spacedeck / Wave Mechanic / Audio Note Arm One V2 / Lyra Helikon / Rega Aria.
