I am in awe of the amazing talents of people. I am privileged to have witnessed the amazing talents of this region's artist. I am thankful to him for his portrayal of certain aspects of life in an abstract and surreal atmosphere.
Using light as its revelation and wind as its rhythm, the setting sun carves a beautiful ballad for an audience of one.

Today the Herrios are copycatting each other. One of my favorite faces on We're Here is the beautiful and introspective Kattara. She is a virtuoso of the deadpan, a master of the lifted eyebrow. Her paintings are iconic as they return time and again in her work. And she plays guitar. A black lefty Strat to be exact. Go check out her work. She's smokin'!

It's funny how much the shots you favorite reflect your mood. These insanely talented photographers have really been speaking to me over these difficult past few weeks. You should add them and let them speak to you too.

All my windows were barred, the sun made stripes of shade
I was sitting round like a zombie, feeding my own face
I was carrying my cheek, I was digging my strange
I was taken you for granted, you were holding the reigns
But I can hear you louder than ever
Whisper to me, help me remember
I can’t see you, but we're still together
Now I can hear you louder than ever

so, this a test shot i did while setting up my daily shoot. the red dress was inspired by FGR's prompt of "ruby tuesday", and i was going to pose with my guitar since it is guitar tuesday. but when i went to move my ghetto tripod (two boxes stacked on top of each other.) by camera fell off and broke.

after a little freaking out, i called my sister to see if she or her husband had any other cameras; she still had her Panasonic Lumix, which is even older than the model i've been using XD and i could get it from her the next day. crisis averted.
i refused to let my camera breaking ruin my day; i went out to my guitar lesson and after, i went out with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend to see a band play at the Backstage Lounge on Granville Island. i danced my ass off and had a great night. :D
moral of the story: sometimes cameras break. sometimes bad stuff happens. don't let it ruin your day because there are so many awesome things in this world, like reggae-rock bands and staying out late with friends. <3
anyways, this was the last photo taken with my Panasonic DMC-LZ1. RIP.

expect a few more of these cop-out outfit shots over the next couple weeks -- as outlined in this photo, i'm going to be dressing up and going out quite a bit.

wow. made a big upgrade on the lens game. i never thought i'd get into photography, but i guess this investment means a bigger step of commitment. may these photos and this camera glorify not the photographer, but that in all things God be glorifed. #audienceofone
