The Ford School Charity Auction is a student-led initiative that raises money for a different non-profit organization each year. The auction committee solicits donations from members of the Ford School community and local merchants and then hosts a gala at which the items are bid on in both live and silent auctions. The gala was held on March 29, 2014.
The 2014 beneficiary was Our House, a Michigan-based nonprofit organization which provides support and resources for Washtenaw County youths aging out of foster care.

It is ironic that I only recently showed a photo of this old bit of stone as a symbul of how our priorities have changed. Now it has returned to become a focal point of anger over generations of injustice. Whether or not this is a "slave auction block" is as doubtful as it is unimportant . As a tangible symbol of the past it has once again become a reminder of the past and of how the past is not really past at all.

All proceeds go to Boobalicious for The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. We will have models wearing the bras milling around our Launch Party for your photo op! Live auction of the bras with fashion show will take place during our Rising Star Showcase in The Gladstone Hotel Ballroom.

I had a piece of my pottery in the Silent Auction - I was glad to see it had three bids (it may have gotten more, I did not check it the last hour). I got two pieces - one in the silent auction and one in the live auction. (June 21, 2014)

When they do this, they MUST make a screen grab of the donation confirmation page to send to the photographer. This is the only way the photographer knows that you have paid and can arrange for the print to be sent to you.

After the bundles are created, Jackson District Boy Scout leaders weigh and tag groups of antlers in preparation for the auction. During the auction, the antlers are sold per pound, so bidders need to know the total weight of lots they may be interested in purchasing.
