.....1824 days since the explosions at Fukushima, Japan. It took 10 days to "cap" the single meltdown at Chernobyl. There were 3 meltdowns at Fukushima.... and little hope of ever finding the molten cores, much less protecting the environment from their lethal invisible contamination. youtu.be/9k3Ofs6R9cg

This is a video about the end of the world! It's actually quite upbeat! I wrote the music and used clips from the internet
Keefer Lake, Ontario, Canada - This was a sunrise with "attitude" .... not a even a smidgeon of saturation was added to this photograph ... may the Photoshop Gods strike me with distortion and blur if I am not telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth! This was yesterday ... this morning's sunrise was less dramatic but was a potent 'blood red' in hue. I'll post something after I download them if any of my takes are worthwhile showing. Cheers!
The hanger was in the cupboard under the stairs when we moved in over twenty years ago. I recently took it out and cleaned it up then decided to make a new kidney shaped, plywood backboard for it.

Well, here it is. My second and final entry into the 100th Lugnut's challenge
I picked No. 98 and my assignment was to build any bubble top car.
I was originally going to build The Homer but settled for something a little more exciting and more my speed.
And once again I had tons of fun building and photographing this beauty.
The majority of the building got finished in the last few days and as one usually does there best work when under pressure I'm pretty satisfied with the result.
There are a few areas that I would have liked to spend more time tackling but hey, you need to stop at some point.
Thanks once again Lugnuts for another super fun challenge!
Let me know what you think.

Bear Rocks Preserve
Dolly Sods Wilderness
Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia
Just returned from a week and a half long trip of camping and photography down in the mountains of West Virginia and I couldn't have enjoyed my time down there any more! This is one of my favorite images from the trip, where the sky went nuclear one morning while up on the Bear Rocks overlook. I swear I could watch the sunrise here at the Dolly Sods plateau for fifty lifetimes and never get bored with it! This place is simply unbelievable. Really looking forward to getting this one printed out large!
This was a panoramic stitch of 6 vertical images processed and edited in Lightroom and Photoshop CC.

Thanks for looking!
I had a few ideas for 'Heart' the subject of Looking Close...on Friday! today. This is one of them: a silver necklace with amethyst made by Clare for me.
Was it worth the time and expense to plant 32 pots of summer-blooming bulbs? Definitely! They're coming into bloom and they're producing some gorgeous flowers. Despite the fact that it's skinny, fragile and tricky to photograph outdoors if there's even a whisper of a breeze, the Gladiolus "Atomic" Sword Lily is my hands-down favorite so far.
