Edwin Carmona-Cruz from Pangea Legal Services, talks about the case of their client, Aida, mother of 2, including a 6 month old who had been born prematurely. Aida fled El Salvador in 2012 due to extreme interpersonal threats and had been following all legal processes to be granted asylum. This past November, Aida was suddenly detained, her baby removed from her arms and remains in detention, 5 months later.

rete, finestra...... sedia .... porta e sedia....
nascondi le sedie e......
eccomi qui, io ed il mio bagaglio di pensieri.... di sensazioni
ritrovo il ricordo delle volte passate
vago nelle stanze quasi a controllare che tutto sia come l'ho lasciato
raggio di luce più.... raggio di luce meno.....
è così vasto, così silenzioso..... così carico di storie
e allora di corsa su, ci sono ancora i libri... i quaderni da finire di leggere..... sapere se anna ha ancora avuta la febbre.... se luisa è riuscita a tenere la patria potestà dei bambini..... se laura l'hanno ritrovata o è riuscita a fuggire.....
se hanno fatto anche questa settimana l'anestesia per fare l'elettrochock......
la stanza con il letto...... quel letto così muto .... quel rifugio ... il rifugio del sonno....
e poi una carezza al lettino dove le sedavano e procedevano con l'elettroschock....
i bisturi..... le cinghie..... in cuoio.... ora cotte..... quasi sbriciolate.
c'è silenzio...... ora sì, c'è silenzio.
c'è silenzio anche tra di noi
non ci si guarda quasi..... un quaderno stretto al cuore......ancora un momento per leggere

This place will always represent our most regretted blown photo-op. I still have a few pictures to process but the vast majority were never taken as we never quit running from the guards. I can only wish the best for the next person(s) who manage to break into this place; it is a virtual feast of heart rending pictures. I will post a link to one of the best soon.
