As I mentioned I am working on getting better options for creating trans clear or trans colored minifigures. This is a trans blue that I cleaned up a touch by using the micromesh sand paper. This gave a more polished surface, btu didn't affect the interior space. I am still working on the best way to fill the torso. This was with clay and I didn't like the finish inside and think that detracts a touch from the nice clear regions elsewhere. I think I can improve this option with a bit of testing.
All that aside if I were to apply decals to the figure not it would have a more astethically pleasing look as the back would not interfere with the front as much and all the internal connections are now out of the way. I have more in mind, Stay tuned.

Unlike past years which seem to very static, 2009 was a roller coaster of events in all aspects. I was going through all my Flickr "favorites" and thought about doing a "Best of 2009" which I felt would be very appropriate on this New Years Eve.....
I personally believe 2009 was one of those pinnacle years for graffiti were it started to move in a new direction in terms of style and technique. A year when when writers went Steven Spielberg on their pieces and a movement towards extreme abstraction and inference of letters began. The perceived ability to keep up with Joneses no longer relies on a bang'n two colors with a strong letter set. A ton of colors, paint sponsorship, Scissor lift and 3 days at a wall are needed to reach the bar. On the the same token the increasing interest of traditional lettering and that old school astethic seem to balance out the new.
In an effort not to sound Old and Shitty I embrace all change, dollars and and anything that comes my way. I'm looking forward to 2010 to see how the old and new evolve. Many thanks to everyone for making 2009 an amazing year. Best wishes for 2010!

I always loved the astethic of "Metro Pizza." Very 80s with the Pastel colors, checkerboard tables, and the Roy Lichenstein pop art of their ads.
From my Summer 2009 folder. Captured on one of our Canoe paddles on Lake Kushog. It's amazing to see the different patterns and symmetries present in Nature - but I know and understand that Nature is nothing but "Chaos", that is in a constant state of flux. We humans tend to seek out astethically pleasing patterns and relations. This is just an example.
"The essence of the earth's beauty lies in disorder, in the disorder of grasses strewn in a meadow, the blotching of green lichen on a tree trunk" - starts out Eliot Porter in his book: "Nature's Chaos". He was influenced by James Gleick's book "Chaos".
Both these book have had a considerable effect on my photography lately - let's see how it unfolds?

Thousands of these ads for this moving service are posted on area telephone and traffic light poles. Apparently enforcement of anti-postereing laws is lax.
Some argue that we shouldn't be concerned about the attempt of some people to earn a living in these tough times. But postering is astethically a form of littering. Especially when done to excess.
Our mayor's campaign workers are also engaging in this illegal practice. Since the mayor is a firm believers of fines as a revenue source I think that fining the campaign organization would be appropiate and fair.
